Thanks @Cheery_Daff, @~FlowerPot~, @Brewerspride, @LadyWithAPlan, @f0xh0les, @Watty1, @PennysIntoPounds (I made the flapjacks for the people who were nicest to me! 😊), @redofromstart and @Twolabsandacat.As predicted, it was a pretty weird day… I ended up doing a deep analysis of product defect complaints for the whole of 2024, for post market surveillance (requirement of the medical devices standard) - I.e. on my last day I actually did what should be my quality manger’s job… you couldn’t make it up. 🤷♀️
Gave out biscuits at the morning production meeting and got a bone crushing hug from the grumpiest of the supervisors who I always got on well with 😊
Quite a few people appeared in the office through the morning to say goodbye and wish me luck, rather to my surprise.Went over to the second site after lunch and dropping off all the IT kit (with passwords and pins). Saw my technician and a few other key people and then made food my escape by 2.30pm.Got home, washed up, changed my bed, had 10 minutes on the sofa.Collected Chloe and paid the initial £1,784 bill! 😳
She is in the crate but NOT happy. She has already tried to climb the sides and break out and I have just tried to dose her with dinner and meds mixed and she is ignoring her food and is looking very fed up in there … sigh …
At least she is home now.
I am shattered.

i am glad she is home and you are home. How ironic you finally did your job as you were walking out of the door!
Would catnip help madam? Or those dispensers that waft cat pheromones about? You can get little ones to spray on her bedding. Miss Feral Kitten here recommends both.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!2 -
If Chloe doesn't want to eat the food, I can recommend getting a box of fortiflora (probiotic powder) and sprinkling some on the food. It's pretty irresistible to cats.
We had a cat with kidney disease who had to have a very bitter medication but had no issue getting him to eat the medicated food if it had fortiflora on top.
ETA an added bonus will be it will help with any upset stomach side effects if she's on loxicom/other anti-inflammatory for pain relief.3 -
The wheels have come off the Chloe and she is now relaxed and sleepy, eaten a little bit (we will give her a bit more food at 9pm) and every time we come into the room and she realises we are there, she starts purring 🤩❤️

Glad Chloe home with you .. ouch to the bill... and what a strange last day.. enjoy your restDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Agree with others, don't make any big decisions while you're in a stage of upheaval and a state of upset with the stress about Chloe and all the upsetting feelings that brings back.
Cats are very adaptable, if she needs to limp or wheel around the garden she'll still have a grand life because she's got a KK and Mr KK who love her3
