Poor Chloe, and poor you and Mr KK. Glad it's not the worst case scenario ❤️ Chippie tea definitely justified3

Poor Chloe indeed and you two as well. Glad the vet has been supportive and fingers crossed for good news today.
(Re cats in crates, little Miss Feral at mine can get out of a crate. I put her in large one that would hold WattyDog with her little tray, bowls and a toy and she got out when she was meant to be crated in her "adjustment to pet" phase. I had to lace the gate up with string at the corners and edge - knowing Miss Chloe she might be of similar mind re confinement so do just check the edges. I could not believe Miss Feral got through such a small gap!)Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Oh no kk ☹️ poor Chloe.
My mum has had a few cats that have sadly been hit with cars in the past. She now has all indoor cats with outdoor safe spaces (are they called catios?)
I hope she makes a full and quick recovery. It's so awful when things happen to our little furry babies, big hugs 🤗 💞MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. I've been through similar (damage near base of tail after being clipped by a car) with a previous cat of mine so I know how stressful it is.Hoping to hear some "big wee" news soon. Mine didn't wee overnight and I was told to expect the worst. Thankfully, later on the next day my boy did the biggest wee ever. He was lucky, as apart from a wonky tail, there wasn't any lasting damage.Fingers crossed for Chloe - hope the bladder issues resolve & that surgery goes well. Will be thinking of you all x2

Oh they are a worry, hope everything goes ok today. My cat refused to wee for 3 days when she had to be confined in the house after being poorly (she’d always hated her litter tray) - the vet ended up squeezing her to make her wee! I refused to keep her in the house after that - it was barbaric ! .Sealed pot challenge 822

Poor Chloe. But it sounds as if she's well looked after.
My brother's cat went through something similar (wasn't sensible enough to come home though, a neighbour found it under a bush), and it was in a dog crate for a few weeks. You do need to keep an eye on them weeing/pooing in their beds if they can't make it to the tray, and they do get pretty stinky as they can't wash.
When my first cat was hit by a car there was no suggestion of operating. She stayed in her bed for 2 weeks, just coming out to use the tray - we fed and watered her by hand to begin with. She had arthritis when she was older, but otherwise was fine.
One of my current ones won't use a tray when she has a cone on, so it has to be taken off. The other will only use the tray in dire emergency and both prefer to go outside. If Chloe is used to going outside, she may be resisting.2 -

Sorry for not checking in again yesterday. Thanks so much for all the messages (too many to tag everyone) - they really are appreciated.
Work is a bit weird / intense in these last few days before I leave and I had a complete melt down last night about Chloe (fear for her future) / George (grief and loss) / Flower (grief, loss and huge guilt) .... My meltdown led to a deep conversation between Mr KK and myself about whether we should look to rehome Chloe (she would never cope with being a house cat) and potentially whether we should just give up on where we are living and move somewhere quieter, away from the road, which I discovered last night is actually really bugging Mr KK in terms of noise levels. All a bit full on.
Apparently, Madame Chloe has had a comfortable night and is set to have her op this afternoon. We should be able to collect her late Thursday for her two weeks of crate rest, which works perfectly for us in terms of it then going straight into the Easter break for us followed by my week off before starting the new role. Not what I had planned for my week off, but hey ...
