Offer received informally by 7.10am this morning whilst on the phone to the recruiter! Formal offer letter received by 2pm. Acceptance sent and resignation submitted by 2.30pm - the latter part of this was the hardest I have ever done as I like (most of) the people and my boss and in many ways it is a lovely site / company. My boss's reaction was an interesting one - he immediately started writing detailed notes about what I call the hygiene factors; better pension, flexible working, better holidays for new starters etc.
Offer from the new role is £52K p.a. with a £5K car allowance (he's done this to make up my wage). It's not a life changing salary but it is enough and I am happy with it
