Well it went on for along time! We were chatting for 95 minutes! 😂
I like him and I would be a big fish in small pond with lots of easy wins, there. There would be a lot of H&S stuff to do, but actually none of it too dry or legislation based - a lot of really simple stuff such as housekeeping etc. He’s got another candidate to see on Monday but he was upfront and said that atm I was his lead candidate, with my experience, background and energy.KKAs at 15.07.25:

sounds great! Is it a nearer commute as well? and is salary commenurate with current role?DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Thanks @PennysIntoPounds, @Brewerspride, yes I was getting pretty tired towards the end, @~FlowerPot~, @beanielou, @dawnybabes, @LadyWithAPlan. Initially his absolute top budget was £1.5K less than I’m on now but he was talking about giving me a car allowance that would top up my wages. There is a full profit share system that operates in the business, but we won’t see that before next year at the earliest.I have a hesitation but I can’t put my finger on it. Maybe it’s because it is a small business (55 people atm) and it will be so dependent on the way the site manager behaves. I’ve been in that situation before and it wasn’t good. But I got on well with him last night when we were both tired. But there are so many positives (better pension, much shorter commute, flexible working, far more interesting job, genuinely being needed not just being a technical skivvy, as I am at the moment). I will sit with it and probably talk it through with a work mentor I have. It might also be a lack of faith in my own judgment after taking my current job ….KKAs at 15.07.25:
