Very late start to the day - we didn’t surface until 11am! 😳😂😉
Boxed up my bolognese mix from yesterday and got them in the freezer.
Wrangled Mr KK’s washing and the towels. All done and put away 👏
Spent an hour or so in the garden. Bashed the frozen bark into spreadable lumps and weeded and barked the area on the far side of the greenhouse from the veggie patch. Cleared the ivy, bramble and other spreading weeds from the railway sleeper base at the back of the greenhouse that I never normally get to. 😊
Trimmed the ‘hedge’ at the bottom of the garden by the chapel. It will be interesting to see how it grows this year.Walkf1t workout done, overall did 8K steps - not bad for a Sunday 😊
Mr KK had a good session in the garage, working on the lathe to create a missing and unfidable part for the stand. Sent a picture of him doing it to my friend as it was my friend’s dad whose lathe it used to be - friend appreciative. 😊
Still cogitating on how to spend the left over settlement monies - added £500 for a break away for me this summer 😊 Still leaves a £1275 contingency.KKAs at 15.07.25:

Very tired. Haven’t been sleeping well over the weekend due to work related anxiety. Some of it is a hangover from my last employment and some of it is due to feeling significantly under utilised in my new role. Also have a lingering, heady cold …
Today was better - felt more useful, so am hoping that the anxiety will fall back a bit more now …
Didn’t get out for a lunchtime walk but hit my minimum steps count of 8.5K for the day 😊 Let’s draw a veil over my eating today … <ahem>
Did get two chores done before I left for work:
- Emptied all internal bins
- Deep cleaned the kitchen sink
I noticed at the weekend that I was aware that these jobs needed doing, but they weren’t ‘imposing’ themselves on me because I was saying to myself, “Oh, those can wait until the 10 minutes slots in the week …” This is good 😊

You're bound to have anxiety leftovers that need digesting from your last job, don't stress about needing time to mentally and physically recover- that workplace and some people in particular were completely unhinged.
You've only been in this job five minutes, they might be trying to kindly let you get your bearings before going 'well you've met everyone now so would you mind terribly, restructuring the entire company's processes. Before Monday'!
And if they do, then you'll smash it. And if they don't, then once you've been there two or three months, you can ask for a meeting where you 'seek guidance in how to best go about fulfilling the job spec'3 -
I'm glad you are looking after yourself Kajikita and you are doing all the right things towards your recovery from a bad experience, give it time and you'll get there. Looking back at the time I jumped out of my horrible job, I was definitely on high alert for similar treatment in the next two jobs. Although they couldn't have been nicer people, the jobs also just weren't the right ones for me but I needed a wage. I think I felt slightly guilty about it for some reason, not sure why, but I moved through them pretty quickly before finding a permanent job that was much more me."Think of many things, do one"

Thanks @beanielou,
@PennysIntoPounds, I think I was working at such a pace in my last job, that this slow wind up (this is my fourth full week) feels very strange … I’ve been discussing it with Mr KK and he comments that the new job is 180 to the old one … It’s my 4th full week there this week. By now, at my last job I was swamped with meetings and work. But. I keep reminding myself that I wanted a better work life balance, I guess this is it?@SandyShores, I was starting to wonder if this was the wrong job for me, but yesterday was a lot better.I also slept better 😊

I agree with others who have said that this is almost the settling in stage. Embrace the new work life balance, think back to when this kind of life was desired and really enjoy it for now. It might step up which isn’t a bad thing as you know you’re capable but right now, maybe it’s meeting you where you’re at (or wanted to be at).Follow here for the daily life of an ADHD mum with 2 children and a new mortgage to pay

Glad you had a better night's sleep. The job is still very new, and the shadows of the old job are still there. I would just try and enjoy the fact it is 'easy' at least for a few more weeks and see how it goes. Then arrange a meeting if it's still not fulfilling enough for you. They may well be worried about overfacing you!♥️ ♥️ ♥️🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸Decluttering 2025 So far 403 / 2025
