Doesn't it just. As a student I got my summer jobs off those postcards!South_coast said:Oh, the postcards in the job centre! That takes me back. Simpler times!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!3 -
Massive congrats on the job front. The whole process of getting work is unnecessarily longwinded. Time to recover from the process and celebrate xMortgage at largest £280050 with MF date 2038 - currently £1560001

I too think the current JC system doesn't work. It is purely about checking whether or not you bothered applying for something and signing off interview expenses. I hope you claimed those?Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

You used to be able to claim x pence per mile. Worth investigating. I think I last signed on around 2009 though so very out of date.KajiKita said:

Just catching up KK 😁 hope you're feeling better now?
I remember the old postcards at the JC. I didn't mind going there back then. The last time I went was with my mum who was just turning 60 and she had just had a hip replacement - like weeks before. They demanded to know what she was doing about getting herself a job! I am glad I was there to put them straight .... She would have just sat and been told off!!
I couldn't actually believe my ears!

Thanks @debtfreewannabe321 😊
I seem to be a bit on edge …. Probably mild anxiety about starting the new job and the run up to Christmas ….
Had the first part of my induction yesterday - 2 hours, very thorough, rather dry …
Received an email from the lady I will be working with to say what I will be doing for the first two days whilst she is off, recovering from three, back to back assessment visits!Last session of cleaning done today - I looked around the house after I’d finished and I could see where I have been over the last three weeks. Hopefully that will set them up well with a ‘proper’ cleaner now 😉😊
Been doing the WFit workouts every day, sometimes two of them. Also been eating rather a lot so not expecting any loss this week, but a maintain would be good as I am feeling a bit fitter and my posture is improving, I think.
£50 win on the PBs - Mr KK has suggested some of it should be spent on a chip shop supper over Christmas! 😂😉❤️
Signed off JSA. Will get my last payment next week I think. That will help offset a small part of no pay over Christmas (no annual leave accrued yet), though they might pay me the BHs? 🤔
Saw my very serious gardening friend for a catch up and a brew this afternoon. She suffered a compressed vertebrae fracture in between her sholuder blades 3 weeks ago and is slowly recovering. I was talking about the Christmas chicken and reiki (dunno why I seem to be telling everyone about this! 😂) and she asked if I still did reiki for people. I said yes, she said would you give me some, I said yes, so I did 😊 It seemed to help the emotional side of things (I think it was pretty shocking and traumatic - she described how when it first happened she was checking whether or not she still had sensation in her arms and legs ….! 😳). She’d also got one of her gardeners to pot up some sections of gorgeous dark pink chrysanthemum and Japanese anemone plants that I’d had admired a few weeks ago 😊❤️🤩
