Just catching up on your work news. How awful about your colleague, so sad 😕
And as for your boss 😡😡 Did he just increase your hours by 5 a week?? Or did I read that wrong?? You were doing 7.30-3.30, and now must do 8-5? So do you take an extra hour lunch break to accommodate his nonsense, or will they pay you extra? Or are you meant to just suck it up?? Definitely time for a new job! And yes, at least someone else will get to deal with your flaky report!3 -
Sorry to hear about your colleague.
Sounds like despite not being fully informed you were still able to demonstrate being an excellent manager.
Congrats on the PB win! Where will you allocate your £100?
Hope you have a lovely day today2 -

So do you take an extra hour lunch break to accommodate his nonsense, or will they pay you extra? Or are you meant to just suck it up??Boss wants me to offset my hours to align with being available to have meetings with him / US colleagues later in the day. But, I can’t actually do my job properly if I start at 9am (miss both production meetings) and I lose the golden hour in the morning before the production meetings start when I can actually do some work before calls start etc.
Also, several weeks ago, he said in a 1:1 that he’d never worked with a quality manager who worked so few hours as me. He is used to people who ‘work late to get the job done’ - I asked what it was that I wasn’t delivering and at the time he couldn’t tell me.In my PDA he basically told me that I wasn’t delivering the role and improvement is required. It felt very ‘compliance’ driven. It made me feel very insecure. But, talking to the HR manager later this week about it, she knew nothing about it 🤷♀️
I am taking the path of least resistance and dialling down my pace in the hope that will allow me to survive the extra 7.5 hours a week.KKAs at 15.08.25:

Not sure on the PB win. Might split it - half to a treat ‘just for me’ (a book or something craft related perhaps) and half to the mortgage. Or perhaps I should be sensible and just leave it in my savings, which is where it lands when I get it …
It has been a lovely day but a LOT of work! They were a fairly easy crowd and, dare I say it, it was really nice to be at family gathering without MiL picking holes in FiL all the time like she used to …. With 10 of us it meant that they pretty much entertained themselves, which helped 😊
There was SO MUCH food though! 😂 Experienced a new flavour combination today - halloumi with mushrooms! Yum 😋

So he's used to giving people so much work that they can't complete it within their contracted hours and he thinks that somehow reflects badly on you? Hope you find something better soon!2
