Men being men and not talking about the things that matter!!! Frankly it surprises me so much whenever him indoors blurts out some emotional revelation that I often have no way to respond myself! But I do agree that sometimes some of us (women and men both) go to the practical rather than the emotional as at least it's something that we can do/control. Emotions and health are much slipperier.
And kittens are just all action and not much in the brain department. They'll get more philosophical as they get older and suddenly realise that laps and cuddling are great things too.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Thank you @skint_spice, @f0xh0les, @redofromstart, @beanielou, @savingholmes, @Watty1, @PennysIntoPounds, @South_coast and @Brie 😊 I can’t access MSE from work but I got the email previews of your messages on my phone and it meant so much as I am sat opposite the team member who is still sulking at me …! Felt like you had my back. And Brie, thank you for the comment about the kittens being a bit brainless and they will get more ‘into’ their Hoomans as time goes on …. We came home to a poop in one of my big planters in the conservatory! 🙄 We are moving a litter tray in there, from the room upstairs where they were when they first arrived and aren’t using any more.As to skin - I need to start using the Bach’s flower remedy for this. I will start this evening.Hugs to Beanie for still missing N - I had a cat, K, when I was 14 who I brought up and she is still my ‘best cat’ …. ❤️
In a spirit of trying to be more positive, I think I need to try finding things to celebrate or be grateful for each day. This, for today ….:
- Cats registered at our local vets - need to share their chip details
- Cats insurance set up and paid for for the year
- Sowed the pumpkin seeds I found this morning 😊
- My cucumbers and second batch of Tithonia have germinated 😊

For @redofromstart and @savingholmes 😊Popped out and fleeced my first early spuds as we are forecast a light frost tonight, and being out in the sticks it could be colder ….

Hi all 😊
Well, fleecing the spuds was definitely necessary! It was definitely frosty this morning and they would have been ‘nipped’ without it.Wins and positives:
- NSD today
- Statement arrived for joint account and I had £239 spare in it (I know this makes no sense to YNAB users, but I run this account with some slack in it to create a ‘demand’ on both of us which leaves spare for savings or OPs) which I was able to offset against the £295 for the cats’ health insurance that I took out yesterday, so only taking £60 from the linked savings buffer account. This means that the savings account still has £716 rather than dropping down to £500-ish 😊
- car is going well and I am enjoying using it. I own a sixth gear for the first time ever! 😂 I genuinely think it will probably make a significant difference to my fuel costs as time goes on 😊
- Got out for a walk at lunchtime and the sky was blue and the clouds were white 😊
- seem to be aligned with one of my colleagues who I sometimes clash with today - they are in a sunny mood for no obvious reason 🤷♀️😊
- sulking member of my team is finally getting over themselves - made small talk at lunch time about the Horizon enquiry
- just come out of a free session with an independent money coach / advisor. I like him and his approach and will definitely do his coaching session (£300) and possibly the Planning session (£995) as I still don’t have clarity on what to aim for next and where to focus, I think some focused, guided thinking would really clarify things for me.- no obvious destruction or non-appropriate pooping when I got back today (we’ve blocked off the top of the big pot that had been used as a litter space with firewood logs - too heavy for Madame Chloe to push aside! 😂😉) and the litter tray next to it had been used. (Apologies if TMI! 😉)

That sounds like A Good Day 😊3

Sounds a much better day.
When can you let the kitties outside? Then the litter tray duties may lighten up. I found by making the silica gel in the litter tray shallower my cat rarely goes poops inside (TMI?) but then I've been mostly home and available to let it out recently which will also have helped.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

We may build a temporary catio over our patio for them to get used to the cat flap first.KKAs at 15.08.25:

Teenage cats are hooligans, through and through, and they often get more affectionate when they get older. IT sounds like they're settling in well though, even if perhaps a little bit too well!
The independent money coach seems interesting though - how did you find them?
