Finding things a bit of a slog here. Is it me or is April going on for eeeever ….?!Work is intense and one of my team is sulking with me. I hate passive aggressive behaviour so they have until next week to get over themselves (they are upset as they will not be included in the bonus scheme - totally out of my hands) and then I will having words.FiL is struggling but the effect on Mr KK is sad to see. He’s realising that he doesn’t have a close relationship with his dad and his dad is mithering on about insurance and money and not saying anything of any emotional significance, so I am supporting Mr KK.
Kittens are whirling balls of activity and energy, which is great on one level but they are still so shy and skittish it is making me miss La Belle Floof every day as she would happily come to me and let me fuss her etc.
I checked in on my mortgage balance yesterday after the monthly payment went out and it is still a depressingly large number and I seem to have no mojo for doing anything about generating OPs - haven’t really done any surveys for weeks now.
My skin is a mess - which is trivial, but demoralising. In an attempt to be positive …! 😉 When sowing seeds last weekend I was gutted that I couldn’t find the mini squash seeds I sowed last year - I spotted them in the kitchen this morning! 😊
Edit: I forgot. I started going through my recipe folders last night and binned a load that are inedible, too faffy or otherwise unusable. That is a small step towards decluttering. Need to file them all properly now, but I have made a start on this task 😊
Also, am reading a really lovely book about how to ‘read’ trees atm. It is literally opening my eyes to them. It’s one of those books that you read just a chapter at a time of so you can savour it 😊 I will be giving it to Mr KK next as I think he will get a lot from it, being a Chippy as he is 😊❤️

Sending hugs, you have it on all sides at the minute. Stress with FiL, stress at work, and worried about Mr KK (stress in the bedroom) the furballs will snuggle up soon.

The tree book sounds really interesting.
On the kitties - I think it always takes a while for them to settle. My cat is very affectionate now - but wasn't initially.
On the family situation - I can imagine a similar issue with my family. I listen to some of the songs on dealing with bereavement - like 'monsters' and 'how do I say goodbye' and am almost jealous of the level of closure they seem to get. I also like the 'when I get there' one and would consider asking for those to be played at my own funeral. L Gilbert - has some good stuff on utube on dealing with grief - both in terms of a partner and a parent. I think the latter is in an O interview.
Work is work. Not as important in the grand scheme of things. The colleague - there's always at least one!!
The skin break out - I love Cl1nq3 moisture surge.
OPs - not a priority right now understandably. You have a lot on. You'll sort it over time.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

You have a lot of stressful things beyond your immediate control now. The mortgage will come good, it does in the end. Sending love and feral kitty purrs (just because my little feral is in pet mode and climbing over my desk)Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!1 -
I'm sorry you're having a rough time of it KK, sending soothing vibes your way.
Have a word with the work person sooner if it's bothering you, it's not your responsibility to give them additional time to behave like an adult.
Maybe Mr KK's dad's way of saying how much he cares is to want to make sure all the practical stuff is taken care of, and he trusts and respects Mr KK to be able to support him in that whether practically or by listening. If there are things Mr KK wants to say then he just needs to say them even if it does feel strange. An awkward 'love ya mate' does a lot, for both sayer and hearer.
It's natural to miss La Belle Floof, she was a family member and loved, and it hasn't been very long. The kitties will settle soon and it sounds like they're in high spirits and loving the home you've provided.
Don't worry about the mortgage at the moment, as long as the monthly payments are being made it's going in the right direction. You can't do All The Life Things at once!
Bad skin is so rude isn't it, and always happens when we're run down which is understandable but is the time we could most do with a good skin boost! Eat a piece of fruit, drink a glass of water, go for a 15 minute walk in the daylight, and get out your nicest skincare products and have a little pampering session this evening before an early night.
Great news on the seeds, decluttering, and lovely book.
All these things will be resolved in their own way soon x
