I think London is difficult for us country folk. I used to live there and love it but not sure I ever could again.
Glad all went well xMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
Thanks @skint_spice, @beanielou, @Cheery_Daff, @savingholmes and @Watty1. 😊
I guess I must count myself as a country person these days … 😉
Right, so far today, I have:
- paid my parking ticket and saved the confirmation email!
- unpacked the car, distributed the items my cousin pressed upon me from my aunt and uncle’s flat around the place and put the kaftan (yeah really! 😂) to air.- put all the other packing away
- done two loads of washing
- bought a car
- bought two bunches of daffs to christen the crystal vase that was one of the items pressed upon me - they are most Cheery! 😉
- sent off the scrap silver that has been hanging around for aaaages …. 👏💪
Now having a brew and 5 minutes chill time.

I’ve been catching up on my finances.Paid off my credit card.
£200 OP ❤️😊Also been doing money prep for buying the car:- Extended my credit limit on my M@S CC.
- Moved £1K from my pay to savings to offset the car spend.- Worked out which savings accounts to move monies from. After paying the car off I should still have £12K savings, which is less than I’d like but a safe amount more than 12 months ago (£8K).I will make a start on car insurance quotes this afternoon ready for picking it up on the 8th April, but now I am taking a break! 😊😉

So glad it all went well, and that you've 'gained' a section of family. Great that you felt able to acknowledge that things have been emotionally wearing lately too. And it's good that you and your Dad were able to be civil and have a wee chat. And what a lot of productivity!
You have done all the adulting and I'm proud of you. Now make sure to have some chill time doing only what will nourish you 😊1 -

Washing up and car insurance done.I am shattered now, so am stopping. Have cleaned the grate and lit the fire so it is cheering for Mr KK when he gets back (the boiler fix last week screwed up the control systems, so although we have hot water we have no heating … Sigh …).
May fall asleep for a bit! 😂
