Fingers crossed your car gets sorted soon xx
I've always been pretty tolerant of other people's noise, but in our last house, having lived there very peacefully for many years, we had new neighbours who unthinking made a load of racket, often singing loudly at 4am for several hours 🙄 I could deal with it, but Mr Cheery REALLY couldn't, and in time, I came to be very stressed by it (and his reaction) too. I think it's that thing about having your safe space invaded.
I think I'd be fine with eg a band practice at a set time (but that might be bias on my part as I am in a wind band that practices in a village hall 🙈😂) but it's hard to stop noticing once you've started, and when it becomes something you fixate on, it's REALLY hard to ignore it! My sympathies!

Hope the sensor sorts the issue out. Re the band practice, I get it. I used to live near a pub with a function room and more than once asked the police to call and ask them to turn the music down when they had a really late night licence yet by the same token I once lived near a church and loved loved loved the bell practice even when they were really messing up the bells. It was glorious.
For the gardener, I'm hiring mine for another day. You pop into my thread so you know I'm really focusing on debt and recovery but for me recovery is also part of my mental and emotional health. In a day he can underplant my hedge with dog rose and trim the laurel hedge between me and the neighbour so nicely they will never know. I could do both jobs but birds nest in the hedge so I'd really like it done before that happens and I need to focus on my emotional and mental health too and I will get more out of my life if I (a) keep work up to date and (b) do things that bring me joy. Outsourcing getting dog rose into that hedge to thicken up be bare bits will bring me joy and be done now while it is the right time and I can take my horses out, ride, walk my dog and cook for the freezer. On balance therefore outsourcing seems a plan that works for me on many levels.
PS I can justify almost anything though LOLMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!3 -
Thanks for the thoughts on the garden help. I will bear it in mind.WFH today - actually managed to get quite a bit done. Giggleclear came and claimed that they have fixed the fibre broadband - haven’t actually tried it yet.Plumber also came and balanced the radiators, insulating the feed pipes under the floor, but failed to fix the dripping kitchen tap - he can’t source the inner cartridge, so we are probably looking at a new tap. 🤷♀️🙄Once I had finished my work hours, I then went outside for a little light and fresh air and to chop back the cotoneaster that is growing out from the front of the garage and stopping Mr KK parking properly. We may do more - it’s that classic thing of stop, reassess and then cut again.Tired, struggling to think or motivate myself (I had planned to make a start on my washing and some cleaning chores after an earlier start today - none of that happened) and wondering if I need to get my thyroxine levels checked as I am also often cold atm …

Ooh yes, I have been reading 'rejuvenate the garden' type books and the 'third off at a time' advice is a recurring theme. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Feeling a bit better than earlier. Some food helped, talking through where my head is at with Mr KK and watching the second of the Gardener’s World winter specials - prompted me to order a yacon tuber! 😉😂 Ah well, it will provide a powerful framework for the bindweed ….!! 😳🙄😂😂😂😂
I did also do a little wander around the garden whilst waiting for Mr KK to come home this evening, looking at jobs. Not sure whether to do more work in the veggie patch (there’s gallons to do) or in the ornamental beds - ditto …. 🤔😊 I could do with finishing something I have started! 😂
EDIT: I got bored in the epic Teams meeting this afternoon so ended up scarifying a whole load of dried seed heads I collected last autumn that were magnetically stuck to my giant noticeboard in little paper envelopes, so they are ready to sow now ….

Phew! The weekend!!Woke up early with work on my mind … 🙄 But it has served a purpose as I have understood a political dynamic I haven’t before. That will need fixing.Determined to be positive this weekend. Have just been down to the cellar and got my first washing load on, which hopefully will mean I get my one body warmer dried ready for going out for lunch with a friend later 😊 I want to get my cleaning chores done this morning before I go out and then when I get back I hope to spend an hour or so in the garden.English coaching this afternoon. His latest book choice, that I have ordered, hasn’t turned up so I am hoping there is lots to talk about in his written homework!Mr KK is taking his dad out to a biking event this evening so will eat out, I will make a batch of something - I have cashews soaking for nut cream to add to it. It will be a bit of a riff on an existing recipe … 😉🤞No great plans for tomorrow. Hopefully more gardening, possibly some decluttering tasks, if I can motivate myself, and that my head will be clear of work by then ….
