Well done on the gardening. The decluttering / clearing plans sound good too. At least once it's gone you have more hope of keeping on top of things. Trying to tell myself that at least.
I think there is still an element here of us having moved in here, 4 years ago, not having the time or mental energy to think about where things should go logically and shoving them wherever we could at the time, and haven't unpicked it since. If I'm right, once we rearrange and organise so things are in more logical places, i hope they will stay there! 😉

I know that feeling! I moved here nearly three years ago after a breakup and was too tired to think. Still got stuff in spare room that I haven’t touched. Surely they can go…

You have made huge progress with the house over the last year! Here's to hoping you manage to get it more like how you want in 2024. Not that I think it's ever done.

When I am trying to declutter myself - it certainly makes you aware of the simplicity of yesteryear when you just couldn't have afforded or borrowed enough money to sustain the amount of clutter that has come out of this house!

....... Quite chuffed at having thought this through 🤩 (Is it just me, or is this the hardest part about decluttering?).

Completely agree, I had a lightbulb moment in my office/craftroom this morning.  For six months I've been trying to figure it out and this morning with a coffee and a quiet period decluttering some paperwork it just came to me.

I think clutter is just very draining all around, so many of us are struggling that I think it must be a sign of our times. My great aunts and grandmothers just had a draw of gift wrap (carefully refolded after use) and string and that seemed to be it!
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!
