I did laugh at that book - and also confused as to why it’s in the school library
what was the Dale Carnegie coach session like - a work related or personal thing ?Your DIY sounds like a long slog - living in a less is never fun - but sounds fabulous to enjoy for XmasDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

No wonder we are both so tired and the house is such a pigsty! Even Mr KK is saying it’s minging - he’s normally oblivious! 😂😂😂 We are now starting to struggle to find things, which is annoying. We were both excited this evening that we found Mr KK’s recipe folder so he could make chicken fricasse for himself this weekend 😉😊 However, the brush attachment for the Henry has completely vaporised! 😉KKAs at 15.08.25:

I have cancelled my lunch with my friend tomorrow. I have to be in too many places at once tomorrow and wouldn’t be able to relax and we are both shattered. We are going to rearrange for next weekend 😊
Rough plan for tomorrow:
- low carb, high protein breakfast
- head in one direction to collect prescriptions
- head significantly further in diametrically opposite direction to look in posh reclamation place for possible paint for wall behind fireplace. (I can ‘see’ the colour in my mind’s eye but can’t seem to buy it!) If that is unsuccessful, head out still further to weird cheapo but useful DIY shop on outskirts of town and try there, time permitting.
- 10.30am sharp, head down to fundraiser at the chapel in the village (main social hub though I don’t attend) - buy cakes, catch up with PCouncillor who persuaded me to join to discuss the possible new clerk and how to support / encourage him
- 11am get back home for Tescos delivery - wrangle groceries
- lunch
- possibly go and collect a bookcase Mr KK has found that might go nicely under the second new window….
- review English coachee’s homework and read first 50 pages of his new book
- English coaching session
- Chinese takeaway
In midst of all of the above, financial updates, washing, drying and keeping Mr KK well hydrated.
Plan Sunday ….

Surprisingly productive morning 😊
- Got my prescriptions
- found possible paint colours
- attended chapel coffee morning / fund raiser (just found out by WhatsApp call that I won first prize on the raffle! 😂)
- wrangled groceries delivery
- bagged up and froze Mr KK’s fresh sausages that have been lurking in the bottom of the fridge since Thursday 🙄
- put some radish in water to refresh
- sliced sourdough loaf to go in freezer and become resistant starch
and am about to settle down and read 50 pages on my English coachee’s second choice of book ….
