Oh bother, that was a long and frustrating morning! Left here at 8.10 (little bit late as had to get the first washing load on the line). Haircut done and then saw subs and missing items on my T3scos receipt. Hurtled round Sainsbugs to get the missing items. Refuelled the car and the tried to head for home … solid traffic …. M4 is blocked eastbound. Had to queue for 30 minutes to get to the roundabout to go back another way. Other way takes you through the edge of Wales and a very long, new, 20mph limit … finally got home about 20 minutes ago. Flopped on the sofa now with a brew after swopping the second washing load onto the line!
It is so warm here, I am in a dress again! 😊

It’s gone very claggy here. Mr KK finished the scarifying and I have seed sown (somewhat inconsistently!) and planted two full packs of small daffodils (they just vanished in the space! 😳). My washing is in and dryish but not 100% because of the clag.
Also scanned in the wayleave cheque so just waiting for that to clear now.
Listed the uPVC window on FBMP to try and get rid of that.
‘Cashed out’ £5 form a new survey site in a using, in a prepaid M@stercard that, once it turns up, I will use on the weekly shop. (I might also OP by that amount but it will depend on how the shop monthly total is looking ….)

Felt tired all day …. but at least not ill! 😊

Just run through my £cial updates (I really shouldn’t leave it for two weeks - I was on the verge of getting into a proper muddle!). No significant surprises - no great increases in either savings or OPs because of all of the work on the house 🤷‍♀️😊 Updated my signature a little.

Sitting at my desk I realise I have a £cial ‘chore’ to do, i.e. log into and set up the new account with the pension provider my employer has just switched to, nominate Mr KK etc etc. Not today (I have had enough for now!) but it’s back on my radar again.

Is anyone else getting swamped with Cmas catalogues of various types along with reasonably significant discounts if you buy now …? I seem to have had 4 in the last week!

This lawn scarifying ( a term I had never heard before) sounds fabulous
I bet your squirrel is watching and planning to do some of their own landscaping as you sleep

it really resonated when  you said 3 years ago you had to use £76 payment against bills vs now it’s an OP - definitely all our blogging on money keeps us moving forward - I can’t believe I have somehow doubled and then some my house deposit in 2 years. It’s a size that 2.5 years ago I would never dream it was possible

Good news on the job decision- sounds like you are very clear on what you want.
    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Exactly this. And I think we also massively underestimate how much resource (in terms of head space, cash and physical energy) something like moving house takes. I know it’s described as being one of the most stressful life events. I think financially it’s also one of the most disruptive.
I recognise this pattern though - we went through something similar when we bought our first house - absolutely brassic at the start and then gradually developing a bit of breathing room within the budget. That is the time NOT to get complacent though! 😉
