I'm sorry you've had a rough week and I hope the counselling helps - I know that when I've needed it it has definitely helped me, even if just to tell me that I was actually having problems and validating how I was feeling.
I hope you give yourself recovery time as well, or whatever you need to recharge. A quiet day sounds like it was needed.Start mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: £240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056

Thank you for the kind words. I have been doing a LOT of reflecting over the weekend and I think this is ‘another layer of the onion shedding’ for me - it happens periodically. It doesn’t get easier, but at least I have more chance of surfing over the top if I understand what is going on with me.KKAs at 15.08.25:

I have been dented! It was in and out very quickly, paying £72 for the privilege of a temporary filling. It will cost a further £590 for a crown on this tooth but tbh, having heard what the dentist told me today I am not inclined to go and try to find an NHS dentist as:a) I don’t think they would have access to the materials and techniques necessary to rebuild the tooth,b) most NHS dentists seem to be brutal and rushed (my last two experiences at two different practices were horrendous) and I am fairly phobic these days
c) I trust my current dentistd) the last crown I had on the NHS only lasted c. 6 months and I slowly lost the tooth after that anyway.
As I said to Mr KK, it’s not cosmetic, it’s functional (I need one functional chewing surface) and at age 52 it’s worth trying to hang onto this molar a while longer. (Oh dear I feel old and crock now …. 😉😂🙄) So very glad we didn’t book that week away in September now ….
In other news, Mr KK sold his Jeep / Landy / anything vaguely related trailer today for £700, which will help offset the spends we still have to make on the lounge rebuild. He has also been able to source *much* cheaper RSJs so we can get one which will run along the full width of the gable end for when we ever have the funds to install full width bifold doors in the future, whilst still spending less than we would for the smaller one needed to go above the current door that we are going to swop for the window in the gable end!KKAs at 15.08.25:

Definitely worth the price for a good dentist/good work despite it being steep!Good work by MrKK. The work sounds interesting! Maybe some pictures would be good! 😏Follow here for the daily life of an ADHD mum with 2 children and a new mortgage to pay

Had a referral come through from the counsellor appointed by the employee helpline. Unfortunately, she is close to my work rather than my home, so in order to see her at a time that doesn’t mean I have to wait around in work for hours, it means I have to wait until the week after next before seeing her as one of her late afternoon slots will come free.Mr KK has been wrestling with sections of wood stove flue this evening and has worked out how to avoid having to spend many £100s on a long 45 degree bend so is very pleased with himself! He’s currently rewarding himself with a WW2 DVD in his garage as he revels in the space selling the trailer has freed up. I am enjoying the peace and quiet in the living room …. 😉It’s been a tough day - the sheer volume of information coming at me and through my brain is overwhelming. There is going to be a recommendation made by the HR manager to the site manager that our standard hours of work for the management team should be 8am to 5pm, 5 days a week. In order to still do my twice weekly meetings with my team at 7.30am that would mean working an extra 6 hours a week. I can't face that. I'm exhausted already. I will say that I will work on for meetings with the site manager up to 5pm by exception and that's it.Did manage to empty the peelings bucket into the compost heap this evening (ooh, the glamour! 😂) whilst cooking tea and gave it a good wash out. Also boxed up all the dried sage - be interesting to see how useful it is in terms of flavour - tbh I think I have over dried it. But hey, it was a free experiment 🤷♀️😉😊 I won’t add it to my produce tracker atm though as I don’t think it counts! 😂
Cut some of my lemon verbena I bought as weeny little plant in the spring - that made an *amazing* cuppa as an after dinner digestive - luminous yellow green in colour (Mr KK went “Yikes!” when I showed him 😊😂) and with a lovely zingy sherbetty flavour to it 😊 Should probably add the value of one teabag for that! 😉
Booked two appointments for Saturday - one for a bra fitting as my current ones are starting to get painful (I left it so long last time I ended up with nerve pain that started keeping me awake at night - crazy!) and a tip run. I’m really not getting the hang of ‘glamour’ here am I ….? 🤔😉😂
Been reading a lot about gut health, UPFs etc etc recently and so took some pickles into work with me today to have with my lunchtime salad. I definitely have some work to do here, but I have started putting the radio on in the kitchen as I am prepping my lunch and it is bringing a whole atmosphere to the ‘task’ - bumped into Cerys Matthews’ Blues show last night and was swaying around the kitchen with my lettuce and radishes 😉😊
