I’ll keep my fingers crossed you get the permanent position. 🤞Glad to see you geared up to get the debt sorted. One thing I did when I was debt busting was stop myself before I made a frivolous purchase (coffee, McD’s, make-up I didn’t need etc) and transfer the money I would have spent over to one of my debts. I still do it now I’m debt free but put it into savings instead. It’s surprising how much these little spends add up to over time.Have you looked into F&F’s with your debts, might work out cheaper.MFW 2022 #71 £4400/£44003

Oh that's a good idea, I'll definitely start doing that also. Thanks for the tip!
The only one I would really try F&F with would be the 118 loan at £1980. But I just honestly don't know where to start, how low is too low? I was going to do it a while back but never did.

Afternoon all,
feeling a little lazy today as I’ve not really done a lot, we’ve had food and just sat around the house. My OH has gone out for a few hours which means I get some me time, I plan on doing a clean around the house and quick mop and hoover. Then I’m going to sit my butt down and budget, see what I can pay off quickest etc and how long it would roughly take me to become debt free. On the plus side as Sainsburys has kept me on a trail period for another month I get an extra months wages. Plus if they keep me on after march the pay increases from £9.50 to £10 and the times between 4am and 6am will go from £2.25 to £2.45. Once house is cleaned etc, I’m going to set up my foot spa and put a face mask on and chill!I also plan tomorrow after working in sainsburys when I get home about 8.30am quickly change and take Django the mountain, hopefully be peaceful and no one around at that time. Then I plan on doing a tip run as we’ve so much rubbish to go.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe boards and spending & discounts boards. Also, I’m happy to slowly see me debt reducing. I’m roughly at the £4.5K mark, in total since last year I’ve paid £1.6K. I know it doesn’t seem a lot but it’s motivating me to keep on pushing to get this debt sorted. I’m going to read up on F&F and see where to go from there regarding 118 loan.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe boards and spending & discounts boards. Great news regarding the extension to Sainsburys contract Jade, those extra hours really will make a dent in those debts. I admire your commitment to getting the extra income, hopefully you can fit in some time for some self care too thoughDays to Orlando: 462- ☀️🎢2

I'm hoping so! When I get paid from sainsburys I'm going to round down my pay so if I get £650 I'll round it down to £50 and pay £600 to debts and £50 into savings! Yep, I'll make it a priority to take some time for myself. I'm also going to plan on taking walks on my half hour lunch in work, weather permitting of course
Tomorrow I plan to take Django up the mountain, it's such a nice walk OH showed me last week. So hopefully it will be nice and quiet and I plan on walking for an hour or so.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe boards and spending & discounts boards. Good to hear your contract has been extended. Long tiring hours, so I'm glad to hear you are planning to look after yourself, get some walks, relaxation, etc.
It's so easy to get back into the sort of spendy little habits you describe with the daily coffee purchases. I think it's because £3 is such a small amount. None of us would get wound up by a £3 spend - it's the habit of doing it which becomes expensive. Five times a week is £15. If that habit is so entrenched it becomes every week, that's £60........ten months of that is £600. Nobody would suggest you give up a £3 a week treat, though. We all need a few little bits & bobs to keep us going! It sounds to me, Jade, as though you have re-focused. To think that you could be going into 2023 debt-free will, I'm sure, serve as a huge motivator. Don't go without the occasional little treat, but ask yourself when tempted to buy something "Does this help or hinder my goal to be debt-free this time next year?" The year will soon pass, & when the debt has gone, you'll be able to draw up a new budget with room for both treats & saving. I am cheering you on from the sidelines.

I'm actually really excited to go on my walk tomorrow, even if the weather is a little pants. It will just be nice to walk Django and be out in nature.
I agree, I'm aiming for early August to be debt free, which is ambitious. But I think if I push myself I could get that done, or close to being debt free by then xI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe boards and spending & discounts boards.
