@carinjo - those look good! I made several jars of cucumber and onion pickle a few weeks back, and really recommend it. It’s delicious. We had some with a little ploughman’s style lunch yesterday (baguette, cheddar, cucumber pickle) and it really hit the spot.

Out: 3 pizzas, bag of salad leaves, raspberries, box of meringues.

Still to eat up from yesterday's haul: 2 tomatoes, a red pepper, cucumber, opened jar of olives, strawberries, vegan 'squirty cream', actual 'squirty cream'.

I've made overnight oats for tomorrow using the rest of the prepared strawberries with some oats, honey and yogurt from the cupboard.

I'll not get through the olives in a week and after a while they get mouldy on top - does anyone know if they can be frozen please?

You can freeze it, but can also try to cover it with olive oil and keep in fridge. If it in brine, i have tried a cartouche, sometimes it works, but not always, especially if it a small jar.

Thank you! It's in brine so I could try draining some and covering with olive oil, and I might freeze a few and see how they go as well. Olives are one of the things that I rarely finish and it seems such a shame.

What is a cartouche please? I'm willing to give it a try but I've no idea what I'm doing! :D

A cartouche is a piece of greasing paper or similar placed over the top of something (in this case your olives) to prevent a skin from forming.

Ms C surprised me with dinner:
Out: pork chops. She done a bbq with grilled aubergine slices and also griddled pears for dessert. Yum!
