I'm back home after a week away staying with relatives and focussed on using up the stores. I'm doing roast dinner today using a half chicken from the freezer for my two meat eaters and a veggie pie from the freezer for me.

Cairnpapple - you've inspired me to use up some of my Thai green curry paste and make some soup as well. I'm going to add sweetcorn, cabbage, edamame and smoked tofu so it'll be big and chunky. When does soup become stew? Maybe it's soup if you eat it with a spoon no matter how chunky it gets. 😀
Haha I was wondering that,  I usually put rice noodles in the soup but I don't have any today.  So we might just have it with rice, in which case I think it has to be a stew no matter how liquid it is! Mine will have baby corn,  mangetout and mushrooms along with the chicken. Yours sounds lovely, I love edamame.

Birds custard powder is my go-to custard all the time, and its £2.00 a tin  in Tescos I do like old fashioned custard and make it at least a couple of times a week as it can go with anything for pudding a dollop on a slice of sponge cake is a nice cheap and tasty filler.
i've even zapped a mini chocolate Swiss roll for 10 seconds in the microwave and dolloped custard on top for a pudding :) Tesco had an offer of 5  Cadburys new mini 'mint' flavoured chocolate Swiss rolls for a pound so at 20p each with a dollop of custard a nice cheap pudding. They were very nice as well, I don't normally buy smal lshop bought cakes, but these seemed a good buy and to me I saw 5 puddings for a quid. I couldn't make them for that price

Using up some spicy Halloumi for a light lunch today from the freezer along with a couple of rolls.I have my Sunday dinner t DDs every Sunday so only need a light lunch around 12.30.
Had one of my batched cooked cottage pies from the freezer last night, and it was lovely, 4 minutes in the m'wave jobs done, also used some of my tinned peas and carrots from the tin cupboard and have enough left in a take away box in the fridge for tomorrow nights dinner, which will be chicken breast and mashed spuds also from the freezer.

    Onwards and upwards chums
