Empty shelves in Morrisons

We all know the recent 'fuel shortage' was created by MSM stoking panic that certain parts of the population lapped up - same with toilet rolls in March 2020 etc. It's not as if shortages are unique to the UK either, not by a long shot - it's why I think that separating covid and brexit effects is rather difficult, and the media certainly doesn't help pumping out sensationalist headlinesPollycat said:

The articles say 'may'.
Not 'guaranteed'.
The media are not doing us any favours by printing stuff like this.
It just causes panic-buying.
Like the petrol shortage that actually wasn't - but was whipped up by irresponsible media articles.
I really doubt the articles in the link by the OP caused the 'most' or 'many' empty shelves in one Morrisons store on one day at 8am.0 -

I work for Tesco and sales have been great throughout the whole time of Brexit fallout and Covid. Good businesses adapt to market conditions. From a customer angle if I couldn't get a certain wine because of a delivery issue I just bought another and applied the same logic to toilet paper, baked beans and crisps.

I'm not sure 'we all know' it's media hype.booneruk said:

I know.
You appear to know.
But not those people who spent hours queuing for petrol.
Or visiting every supermarket in a 20 mile radius to buy as many toilet rolls or packs of rice/pasta as they were allowed.
I made the same point about the media.
It doesn't help showing a BBC reporter in a supermarket with empty shelves.
And I don't think it helps by posting that 'most' shelves in any supermarket are empty.
