The graduation meal went really well, dil’s dad and step dad paid for it which was a nice surprise so just £5.80 on parking, I had to borrow mums car as with no air on and us all dressed up there was no way we could take my sweatbox for an extended drive. Lovely meal in the Chelmsford cosy club which was great, we often go to the York one. Then a curry round mums for brothers birthday - also free , not that I had curry, just potatoes and Nan as I don’t want upset tummy again, still a successful day of blagging free food 😬
I’m in bed super early again, it’s much cooler upstairs and watching the Last night of the proms where lucky dd is tonight with her dh, although I’m not sure as I am that jealous as the Albert hall is boiling on a normal night 🥵 she’s also gone in a full length satin gown (in blue with Union Jack accessories 😆) so I think she will suffer, I did warn her!Anyway whilst trying to keep cool I decided to see how many months I’ve knocked off the mortgage since opting for he five year fix in October 2022 and attempting to clear it in 33 months - drum roll as it’s actually quite surprising …… 96 months 😱 that’s 8.72 months per actual month knocked off since October, it’s cheered me right up 🙂MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁6 -

Thornton le dale is very picturesque. We have just moved a couple of villages along from there. A very long way north for us as we moved from the Kent coast.1

Busy week again, the days seem to filling up with seeing friends or family lately, some I want to and some that are starting to feel like hard work 🙄
Yesterday was Dil’s birthday, so an early morning trip to sainsburys to get a birthday cake, I ended up getting a value one and a pumpkin spice flavoured one, as well as some food. I quite enjoyed it there and may even switch from Lidl for a bit which I’m a bit weary of right now, there’s a lot of value type products there too. Before that I’d popped to a new hobbycraft opening and managed to get a free goody bag. Then out for a quick drink with dh to try and have a chat about work and us and what he wants to do next, it’s all a bit up in the air still. In the evening we went to the pub around the corner which we never do with dil and weirdly all of my children showed up at the some time which is rare, a drunken ds1 even swung by (drowning his sorrows all day after a West Ham loss) and Dd managed to get a hug off him while tipsy 😂Today it’s dads birthday so I’ll pop round in the morning - also to visit their new kitten, mum ignored all my advice and warnings and went for a snow lynx bengal kitten, not from a registered breeder. She’s had a bengal before but they are very lively cats, she’s been literally climbing the doors and chewing the very expensive sofa from day one. I feel it’s a bit like saying I’ve had kids before when your kids are in their twenties and then thinking it’s fine having a newborn, not a great idea 😂
Off to the cinema this afternoon to see A haunting in Venice the new Agatha Christie, probably have everyone for lunch first though. Hopefully the coming week will be a bit less busy as I’m quite worn out. Later I will check the finances, they have taken a big hit as I’ve gone ahead and booked a cruise for may 2025 which is a couple of months after my 50th, so far it’s us , my parents and aunt, the inside cabin we were going for went up in price over night before I booked it which was very annoying so now we have gone for a much dearer select price (choose your own cabin) balcony, thus doubling the cost more or less 😆 so it’s was £2318 for both of us for a week, including flights to valetta, with £190 on board credit. But hey it is my 50th and we may even be mortgage free just about!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁2 -
You do live a busy life! Kittens are little nightmares anyway, I'm not sure I could cope with one like your mum's!
Hope your dad has had a lovely birthday!
Very impressed with your mortgage busting, you should be so proud.1
