Lol, Leeds is South, Yorkshire is South, Newcastle is South from my perspective, I'm South from my family in Edinburgh's perspective, my friend in Orkney is South from the perspective of someone in shetlands.   Lol.  Its very relative however I've never actually understood how someone from approximately the middle of England/the lower quarter of Britain can think of themselves as Northern yet people further north even in England dont seem to call themselves northern??  Its north of such a small percentage of the length of Britain.  Seriously, joking apart, can anyone explain that for me, i genuinely puzzle over how this area started getting called north.

Basically anything north of watford gap is north & should be devolved.  London is a country all of its own & always has been.

😆 I guess its all relative! North is probably midlands upwards for me  😁 All I know is Northerners (wherever that covers!) seem to take offence far more easily if you misplace their accent and think they are from another area 😜 I’ve already been told by ds1’s Yorkshire girlfriend I sound more Essex than London which nobody wants to hear, I might have to decorate her new office in a Lancashire theme 😂

Urgh it’s too flipping hot this week, very hectic day yesterday visiting friend with a very bad back, my mum, then met the girls at one of their houses for a drink in the evening, plus a mad dash trying to park up for a blood test miles away (couldn’t get the test centre a thirty second walk from home) in the heat and had to park miles away up a hill 🥵. Today should be more relaxed hopefully, I’ve a friend coming for lunch later and need to do some housework and hopefully that’s it.

You may well find that most of the problems with northern accents is mistaking lancashire for yorkshire & vice versa.  We still haven't forgotten the wars of the roses.  Do you remember when they changed a lot of boundaries?  Well most still refer to themselves as being from the original county.  Mind you I still refuse to put greater Manchester in my address.

I’m embarrassed to say I have vague memories of learning about this at school but that’s about it 🙄 it’s probably time to find out out more!

So hot again, when will autumn start? Went out last night to see cobweb at the cinema although ds2 and Dil which was a ok little horror film. Still need to get a gift for dil today as it’s her graduation tomorrow, I’m usually very organised with stuff like this but no idea what to get, her aunt has got her jewellery so not that! I might just go with a bag of goodies like champagne and chocolate.

£76.24 / £490 spent so far, I’ve overspent the last couple of weeks (dh’s  birthday) he paid for most of the York costs but i paid a couple of cheap meals plus the petrol along with drinks at the pub and chips for us the kids and partners when we got home, so I was £184 short 😩

I’ve decide to take it out of this months op and spread it out over the term making an extra £10 pm overpayment so I’ve had to reduce the grocery budget by £10 pm to balance it out as I don’t want to get off track if I can help it. We will still need to add on another month or so at some point so we can book a holiday next year as I think we should not go without for the sake of an extra month off.

It’s Dil’s graduation today, we are going to the meal after as it will be  ds2, sister, dad and Nan going to the ceremony and the tickets were limited. As she’s been bought jewellery by her Aunt I ended up buying g her some rather random gifts - a magnum of Prosecco from M&S and a felting kit and a Xmas sequin picture making kit 😆 she’s mentioned wanting to try felting so there was some thought behind it!

After the meal at lunchtime it’s off to mums for a curry for little brothers birthday and parents anniversary which are both today (just us and ds1 going) the rest are partying on at dd’s flat. Rather a lot of food for one day so I might skip the actual food at the curry night, upset last time anyway 🙄

Off to hang some washing out then check the finances 😩
