I agree with LG - you've got life happening at the moment, the big (and good) stuff - enjoy it! The money will work out.

Re Covid - Mr MV is still struggling with tiredness (and the occasional cough) 8 weeks later (and it doesn't become long Covid until 12 weeks...). He's better than he was though, fortunately.

On dear, it’s so strange how differently it affects people!

So behind with everything at the moment, today I’m picking dd up first thing for her first wedding dress fitting, we are having breakfast first and then I’m guessing we will hang out today 😬 the downside is my house is a little chaotic and needs a deep clean and I wanted to get on top of it before the weekend as dh is not working and I’m away early next week so wanted to do something nice, although he will probably with a couple of trips to the cinema anyway really 😂

Ooh, enjoy the wedding dress fitting

I know what you mean about feeling behind - I'm very happy to have all this work, but wanted to get the house properly straight and be on top of everything before we go away.... and time is running out!

Oh I don’t know where you are going Vix, I need to catch up on your diary 😬

The dress fitting went so well! It looks amazing, it’s very plain but with no embellishment at all, but very full with a large train and long cathedral veil, she looks stunning. It needs taking in a bit as dd has lost weight through work stress bless her. She’s also wearing my elbow length plain wedding gloves which luckily match perfectly.

Today I’ve a nail appointment first thing, very essexy I know 😂 it’s the third time as I’m keeping them done through the wedding periods. Then I’m popping to a friends for lunch and as another friend is up from Devon, then out tonight for cocktails (well mocktails for me!) then a curry for a friends 50th.

I’ve booked a couple of nights at a Xmas market this week too, going the end of November sandwiched between the first two England World Cup games 😆 Flying to krakow with no “luggage” just the Ryan air  handbag size that goes under your seat 😱 £149 for the flights, £17 each was for private transfers, £162 four star hotel actually on the town square for two nights so £172.50 pp plus spending money and airport parking, pretty chuffed with that!

Wow I am getting more and more rubbish at updating my diary 😱 last week was the trip to York for my friends 60th, it went really well and she very much seemed to have enjoyed it. I couldn’t pre book Betty’s tea rooms but luckily there was no queue when we walked past on the first day so we popped in for tea and a fat rascal/cake. We did the boat trip and visited York minster which although I’m not religious is one of my favourite places ever, I sent her the link to watch Tony Robinson’s programme on it before we went which makes it come alive even more.

After that we had a 70th party Saturday and this week has been busy trying to book things for our cruise to Norway with family next week which is taking hours on the phone as online wouldn’t work. Ds2’s wife has been unwell so I’ve taken her for tests today and managed to get her registered at our local doctors now she lives here, her old doctors sometimes takes days to get through on the phone just to book for a phone appointment,Within 10 minutes she was registered and had an appointment!

Vets tomorrow for the crazy cat, which will hopefully result in a less crazy cat afterwards - snip snip 😬 then off to the shops for a couple of hours worth best friend - hooray!

Spending wise it’s been a bit all over the place, but I think I’m about where I should be, still need to set a longer term budget beyond this year as I don’t want this mortgage dragging on forever which it’s feeling like it might do 😆

Back again so soon 😬 Just looked again at our energy bills  less than I expected. This could be as we have had a quiet month with heating or much cooking. I thought we would be looking at £450 pm (maybe we will in winter!) but currently it’s about £300pm and we are £151 in debit. As we haven’t received the £150 council tax payment I shall use that to help. I think instead of setting a higher budget for it now I shall monitor every month and keep the DD at £300 and make monthly extra payments. This means I’ll overpay a little more than I had recently planned.

So I hope to make between £500-£700 overpayments pm on top of the £347 minimum payment, less when the bills go up again, but it seems daft to budget more than I need and reduce overpayments for the moment.

However it’s still going to be an expensive rest of the year so I might struggle to stick to this 😆 it’s dhs 50th in September, little brothers 40th, mum and dads 50th anniversary (same day as brothers 40th and same week as dhs 50th) it’s not the presents so much that cost it’s the meals out! As well as d’s wedding round the corner although there shouldn’t be much to pay out for that as we gave them money a while ago and we have outfits sorted.
