Eeek! Being spiked is not the desired effect of a stag! Hope it's just the money and not anything else.

    Ooh a full house again!

No indeed KP. They are home now finally, the spiked one also managed to leave his passport on the plane when he got off so more delays 😂 thanks fully they are not all that daft!

Spent the day making the spare room ready for dd to stay (she stayed in ds1’s big room over the weekend) she’s not great at the moment and drowning on stress and work. Will need to get more organised food and cooking wise, the others come and go so it’s more laid back, but I think dd and fiancée will be here every night for dinner now.

Today I’m meeting the lady I used to work with in the factory for years, she’s late seventies, never married or had kids and lived with her mum in the house she was born in (east end) until her mum passed away in her late 90’s. She’s such an inspiration, after losing her mum and job of decades , she sold up and bought a new flat in Essex in the big shopping centre (as she used to like going for coffee there 😆) and has made a new life. Walking to the shops every day, making friends with all the new neighbours etc. what a brave thing to do and it’s really paid off for her, she seems happy again 🙂

Anyway I’m waffling, after that I’ve got my aunt over for lunch and then I’m visiting one of the “girls” for dinner as it’s her birthday. Somewhere in between I need to do a food shop , clean then house and get some washing done and dried without the heating on ❄️

😱 La la la I can’t hear you tryharder 😂

Popped put this morning to Asda to get Mother’s Day cards and presents and found some reduced towels which we are in desperate need of, 78p each for the last four bath towels and 38p each for six hand towels, only problem is they are royal blue and don’t match, oh well! Also bought a nice Micky mouse sweatshirt with 20% off, I seem to have started buying myself brightly coloured child like clothes lately 😆

But the biggest news of all is , drum roll…… I have found a local hot tab repair man! They were rarer than hens teeth in lockdown, but I’ve hopefully struck lucky. If it can be fixed and at a reasonably cost I will do it, if not it will go and free up some space. If it is fixed we shan’t be heating it, except occasionally  due to the cost and waste of energy, but I would love to have a few summer days with the kids out there having cocktails again (well tea for me 😁). He’s hopefully coming this weekend and charging £60 to look at it which is knocked off the bill if he repairs it, that’s amazingly reasonable, in lockdown everyone was charging in the hundreds to even come and look, not that anyone returned my messages or emails!

Finally five minutes spare to update! Just got back from a seven hour round trip to collect the wedding dress that is one and a half hours each way 🤦🏼‍♀️ Got stuck dropping ds2 at dhs work and then was re routed a different way (ultra low charge now too 😡) then almost home and the shop rang to say we left the wedding shoes!
Dd moved into her flat yesterday night with nothing but an air bed after flying back from her first major event abroad, so I’ve done two Gatwick runs this week as well.
Also trying to help with getting stuff organised for the wedding as fiancée is snowed under with uni assignments and ds2 is mostly not to be trusted choosing anything 😂

Almost hit a car that did a 360 across three lanes in front of us on the m25 earlier (I was next to the fast lane) managed to stop in front of them just in time, very scary! Now off to cook dinner for later before going to visit dds new flat, then hopefully bed at some time. Finances I dread to think, I’ve done about £150 in diesel in the last week and a half 😩

Oh boy. Sounds like you're having a bit of a hectic time. 7 hours is ridiculous!

Would love to hear about DDs flat, love a mother's instincts on their child's home. I learn so much from it.

Hi Kp, the flat was really nice! A big open plan kitchen lounge, double lengthy balcony and two bedrooms and bathrooms, it’s only two years old so quite modern. It’s in a cheaper town (where dh and I first started out actually 😆) about ten mins drive away. There’s not much in it so far as they are the opposite of me and are perfectionists so taking time choosing things, but it’s a nice little new estate and near to the station for London, although they could have spent more a got a house really, I think for them at this moment in time it’s the best option as they are too busy with work to take anything else on.

Crazy busy this week still, millions of silly little things I shouldn’t be stressing over as the bride and groom are so laid back they aren’t 🤣 had a trial run of making buttonholes today which went ok,  now I can bash them out quickly next week. We are now booking a hotel room to stay at the venue ten mins away as ds2’s fiancée wants to stay over but not be the only one 🙄so another £105 on top of the money I’ve spent lately which I’m worried is a LOT 😱 I’m billing ds2 for wedding stuff I’m getting they need, with their say so first of course, but I’ve decided to get my nails and makeup done as well as hair now!

Have done a long list tonight of what’s left to do and the finances are right at the top, we got an email from so energy saying we currently use £200 pm and they think it will be £300 now, I know that we use more like £300 now though and the hot tub is on as well😱 need to reg jig everything and I’m not sure my usual plan of trim the grocery / petrol budget will cut it this time 🤔
