Just agreeing with Tallulah and Suffolk Lass - very happy to see you, but don't want you exhausting yourself or feeling obligated to give us a full update.ย Write what you can, by all means - the weighing in the balance of the drugs and their side effects sounds so difficult to do in your situation, but you definitely sound like you've reached a compromise point that suits you.ย And yes, there are more important things than money!ย Your health, both physical and emotional, absolutely.

Thanks for the update - I did wonder about you - as I have seen you posting on mine and other diaries but didn't want to pry. Wishing you well with your treatment. I hope DH manages to find something he wants to do next. Hope he gets a decent redundancy package too. The timing on the face of it sucks but will it make it simpler to take time out to support you?
Good luck with your children's exams. Make sure the Exams Officer knows to make allowances.

You know people usually try to slow down when these things happen but err, you still seem pretty busy!
I'm sorry you've felt so poorly, but you're very good. X8 -
SH I think she IS the exams officer?
You're doing so well with the chemo. After a helluva year, DH has had the all-clear and he's back to work three days a week. I hope that's coming for you too, soon.ย
Sorry about your DH's job, he can look after you for a bit though. xxx8 -

Awwww - aren't you a lovely lot!!!
What a rollercoaster week it has ended up being - DH decided to appeal the decision on his job, re-worked some stuff, highlighted some areas where he felt he'd been let down - and ended up with a job - whoop! His current boss isn't a fan, but he got the support of his new boss - which is the important bit. He's got it wef 01/07/22 on a 'prove yourself over the next 6 months' basis - so he's determined to do just thatWe are all so relieved! - not from a financial pov, but for his MH.
And then there's sneaky daughter... she came home from work yesterday and announced that she'd had an interview that day - and got the job!!! It's with current employer but a 2 grade rise - so a decent/ noticeable pay rise is involved. We knew absolutely nothing about it - she found out she had an interview the day DH was told he didn't have a job. Very proud of her - she had amazing feedback from her interview and beat off other competition from internal and external candidates way more experienced than her - she's been in her current role since March 2021. She needs increased vetting for the new role, so won't be able to start it until that is through - but hopefully in Aug or Sept at latest (although even for internal vetting there is a backlog)
DS2 has 3 GCSE exams left next week now - Chem, Further Maths and Physics - all of which he wants to do for A level and Physics is his favourite subject (the HoD has described him as a natural physicist) - so next week is a really good end to the exam season for him. (and yes, @killerpeaty - special consideration is being applied for for him for all of his exams due to my treatment)
DS1 is coming home from uni next week - normally I'd go along for the trip and make sure the house is all clean everywhere I can get to to maximise the deposit being returned. However, I have chemo #4 the day before his return - so I don't fancy the idea of 4.5- 5 hours in the car and a whole heap of cleaning during the day! DH is going by himself and DS1 is under strict instructions to do as much as possible in the preceding days - including some laundry - he normally stops doing laundry in the run up to coming home and arrives home with 2 full loads worth... I have pointed out that I might not be feeling so good, so as little laundry as possible would be ideal!
Hmm.., what else....? Ooh - we went to see Madness at Westonb1rt Arboretum last weekend - a Xmas present from Dec 2019! Band were good, organisation of parking and anything to do with accessibility was beyond poor.... (and quality of food there very poor - I wasn't expecting it to be brilliant, but the quality has gone downhill since we last went there 3 years ago) And my oldest friend has had all of her hair shaved off this week to raise funds for Canc3rRes3archUK and the L1ttle Pr1ncess Trust - she's raised ยฃ1650 so farย
It's a beautiful day here - as I think it is in most of the UK today? I have picked loads of strawberries from the garden (and got tired as a result - I'm such a lightweight nowadays in terms of activity!!) and I have also spied that the cherries on the tree have started to ripen - yum! I shall need to get to those before the birds do!
Other than that, life is ticking on - I am more tired each cycle (to be expected) and have made the decision to go on sick leave fully now - I have been wfh part of each cycle but now want to spend my 'good' week or so not doing work. I went out for lunch yesterday, which was lovely. The day before a colleague came here for coffee and catch up (and brought along a stunning bouquet of flowers, too!) Even those activities make me tired, so I am pacing myself lots now! Today has been strawberry picking and then listing 5 things on flebay - this afternoon will be a minimal amount of ironing (school uniforms for next week) and some catch up tv. Dinner tonight is super easy - Friday is traditionally chippy- DS2's favourite (although some of us end up with just chips and then something from the fridge/ freezer to go with it) - and we also have lots of leftovers from last night (celebratory meal after DD's job news) - so that's all sorted! All I need to do is make Ang3l D3light for after - DS3 has discovered it and it's his new favourite thing! (I made a sort of trifle for the Jubilee weekend, using AD instead of custard - as only DS1 likes custard) - takes me straight back to the 1970s!!ย
And, yes, @Alchemilla - prices in Glos Services are shocking - definitely in need of a shrieky blue smiley!!!!But the food is yum!
