That's great that you've got two serious contenders2023: the year I get to buy a car1

The red brick Kingsley Road house was my favourite 😁 I'd like a separate utility, or a wall between the kitchen diner and lounge, but that would be my only nitpick.
The flat split across two floors was pretty close to a house in my mind, just no garden or freehold. When I first saw the suggestion of a flat I did have a little "why bother" moment like KC did, but once I saw the photos it made a lot more sense! Your money would go a whole lot further if those were acceptable compromises.2 -

And you are right, maisonettes always feel a bit more like a house, and it's nice that no one lives above the flat too. We could live without the garden I reckon. It's a funny one, I get very excited about nice & big gardens, but most places around here have relatively disappointing outside spaces which we likely wouldn't use that much. There's always the allotment, one day! (We're #19 on the waiting list now, so not too much longer)1 -
We decided to offer on both, £490k for the flat (a fair bit over asking, I know, but it's had a huge amount of interest so we might as well show we're serious), and £625k for the house. Will see whether that gets us anywhere.5

What will you do if you somehow get both?1 -
