), here's the latest viewing list. The doer-upper sellers have accepted an offer already, so that one is out of the running. Ah well, saves us a whole lot of work
Mr julicorn is viewing this one on his own this evening, because I'm still isolating (but looks like I'll be allowed back out tomorrow, hurray!): https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/120159599#/
Tomorrow, we're starting things off with this viewing which we booked while we were still in Center Parcs, let's call it Livingstone Road 1: https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/119759591#/
Then we're viewing a flat without a garden, but it's comically close to where we live now, so it would have been rude not to see it. I actually do like the look of it a lot, and it's very far under our budget, but the lack of garden is a shame for sure (although atm we're spending a lot more time on the beach and in the park than in our garden, and we will get that allotment at some point to....): https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/120451613#/
We're then viewing a house that we were going to see last weekend already, which is when they had their open house. So it seems like they didn't accept an offer off the back of that... unusual: https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/84004545#/
Aaaaand then another house on Livingstone Road has just been added as well, so we're closing off our excursion with that. We might be the first to go look at that one: https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/120654617#/Initial mortgage bal £487.5k, current £258k, target £243,750(halfway!)

. Anywhere else lack of garden would probably bother me, but you have a beach so meh, and think of how quickly you could get that mortgage down!
The one that backs on to the railway. Our house is parallel to the train track, we could literally spit on it from here and we can see the station from our house. We're in a village so not as busy, but the trains really don't bother us at all. I literally have to ask visitors if any have gone past because I blank them out
Either way those are a really nice selection so fingers crossed.
And one of the student houses I lived in backed on a railway, I actually really liked that and found the sound really comforting. With Brighton being a terminus as well you don't really get super fast trains passing along there, they just slowly rumble into the station haha.
I'm really excited to get back out there tomorrow, it's been too long ❤2 -
And thanks so much @Sistergold, we'll give it our all 🥰0

Thanks @South_coast , it is nice to see we're not all alone in this haha!
The viewings went really well. The houses in Livingstone Road were good, but we didn't quite get 'the feeling' with them if that makes any sense? The first one had a super gloomy downstairs front room, probably because the window is fairly small. The one we saw in the afternoon felt a bit brighter and a bit more spacious as well, and they both are certainly good options, but we weren't as excited as we were about the other two.
The flat was really lovely, super high ceilings, really bright and just all round wonderful. Mr julicorn would prefer a house in theory, but really liked this flat too. It has had a lot of interest, they had to extend their viewing slots today, and I reckon it'll go for much more than £450k, but it's most definitely worth it.
The Kingsley Road one was really nice. Super quiet and peaceful, nice living space, and the master bedroom and ensuite are just fabulous. The roads around there are quite steep and I actually broke my ankle round there last year, so there's some completely irrational 'I might fall over' paranoia on my end walking around the area, but no doubt I'll get over that haha! The house really felt like home, although the garden isn't the most usable (again quite steep stairs to the top bit).
We're considering offering on both. The flat wins hands down on location, but Kingsley Road was such a lovely house and is in a good area as well. Having our bed under the skylight and watching the stars above is a bit of a dream for me, so it definitely gets points for that.
We'll just have to have a think about what to offer on those two. Kingsley Road has had one offer following the viewings last weekend, which is 'on the lower end of the guide price' (£600-650k).2 -
