I think I am a bit behind with the thread I have been keeping an eye out on Rightmove in Lewes for you Julicorn. This one is lovely although EPC shows it would be an expensive house to heat….

You are not at all! Lewes is still on the list, we'll probably try and head up there on the weekend next week (not the weekend coming up). Thank you for keeping an eye out! <3

Hi julicorn! Wow, Brighton prices can seem so mad, can't they!  LadyGnome has covered everything, I think - especially uncovering the garden before you do anything to the house.   That garden has a *long* south-south-west facing wall - you could line that wall with fruit espaliers :):):) blissful.

I did notice after that the new house is a 4 bed which swayed me a bit, but then I saw the price and mentally compared it to the one you last bid on. Even if it wasn't 100% how you'd want it straight away 50k or so will still get you a fair bit done assuming it's structurally sound, especially if you can do some of the easy labour yourself or know anyone who can help with the skilled stuff. It has lots of potential definitely.

Whilst it is completely unhelpful to you I keep seeing what your budget would get around here and struggle lol. This one came back on recently and I love it :Dhttps://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/113118215#/?channel=RES_BUY

I feel like that garden has so much potential, can just imagine splitting it up into lots of separate bits. But the house has got to work too, haha :D It feels like based on the pictures, it could go one way or the other with this one, I'm just a bit excited by the potential.

Yeah, the last one was smaller with about a quarter (?) of that garden space, and went for £625k. So that's my main comparison too.
Also, keep them coming! I wouldn't call that a garden anymore, that has got to be a park :D I also came across this beauty yesterday, which is actually in Brighton, although unfortunately Brighton, NY: https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/31-Wilshire-Rd-Rochester-NY-14618/30901157_zpid/
So we're basically just in the wrong Brighton!
