Oh @julicorn! So sorry, yours will come and it will be better than all ones you have seen so far! Buying is really too unpredictable at present. Being chain free is always the best position to be in.

Definitely. It does seem like listings are picking back up again though - it might become slightly easier when not half of Brighton is going to see the same house, and pretty much only that one house on one weekend :joy:

Well, they seem to have taken some inspiration from the sealed bids approach :joy:

Aww sorry about the house. Buying somewhere to live is such an emotional thing it must be so hard to miss out on one you love. Maybe your new viewings will throw up a gem <3

Thank you @Nichelette, really appreciate it!

I'm starting to feel a bit ropey now as well, so have finally pushed Mr julicorn to take a covid test - positive. Ugh. Mine is negative at the moment, but I have quite a sore throat, which is how it started for him. Gonna call up and cancel that survey tomorrow, and the viewings for Saturday (unless I miraculously feel fine and still test negative tomorrow, or whatever - it's too late in the evening to think straight).
  • Sorry to hear you missed out, the one will come along soon.
    Get well soon both.

    Thank you @jenni_fer

I'm feeling absolutely horrendous today, so have just emailed around cancelling all the appointments for tomorrow. Problem is, we have the homebuyers survey booked today, and didn't get any sort of confirmation for it (other than the EA phoning up because they were the ones who got the call), so I have no idea who it's with and who to contact. I'll call the EA as soon as they open and hope someone can do some detective work there.

(I also realise my diary atm isn't exactly the most positive, I promise I'll be back to my fun musings about very small houses and bread-baking soon!)

    Thank you @smetf <3

I know estate agents are generally the devil, but the one we were speaking to about the twitten house is honestly such a sweetheart :joy: I emailed everyone we had a viewing booked with tomorrow, including the agency that also listed the twitten house, and he ended up giving me a quick call to say he hopes we feel better soon. Bless him!
