  • £35 is not too bad, I'd be happy with that, and if there's nothing on the diagnostic then you should be fine :)  I managed a couple of studies early doors too, low paying but it all adds up. I've £3 approved and £11 pending at the moment, some are taking ages to get approved lately.

We've not had shepherd's pie for ages, maybe not since the old house! I'm making home made meatballs tonight, a big batch and then I will freeze some for later. (Being my future friend)

It's always nice to get a lift in income, I am expecting my pay rise on this one but not sure what I'll get yet until they upload the pay slips tomorrow.  Wages and tax confuse me so I can never work it out :D

Onwards and upwards, how does it feel to be posting more regularly?

Weirdly, I feel a little bit more on top of things just by posting! I make a great veggie shepherds pie - we cut down on meat just to reduce costs but actually feel much happier for it. Meatballs sounds yum! :)

Another £6.34 cashed out on prolific this morning, with £8.70 pending. I'm trying to keep it open at work and slip in the odd survey when sat at my desk.

Another no spend day planned today, working all day and then tutoring this evening so won't be finished until 8. The run up to exams always get busy. I'm going to see if I can have no spend until payday! Updated my signature to include CC - I'm still trying to work out what to overpay first... I want to see them both going down at the same time! And I'm panicking myself about how big my tax bill will be this year, I know I am expecting more because I moved in with partner and renting out my house, but I am concerned I haven't made enough of a savings pot to cover it in Jan... going to get the figures to the accountant next week. And I think I'll up my contributions to my tax savings... I'm just setting up a spreadsheet to make sure 30% of my monthly self employed wage is going into tax account.

Anyway, I feel like I have a plan so should be ok :)

  • It's all about the planning, and at the moment January is a while off so adjusting your budget now should see you right. It's good that you're busy, I find I spend less when I'm busy :D
Is there any way you can track what your tax bill is likely to be?

I've been trying to work it out, but I'm confusing my brain. I know it'll be more than last year so I'll have to pay balance on this year plus half of next year... so I think I've come up with a worst case scenario (knowing it'll be less because I haven't added any expenses). I think I need to do some kind of book keeping course to understand my complicated income! 😂

  • I’d err on the side of caution too hun, better to overestimate and have some spare x

Another £5 from prolific today. It it keeps continuing at this rate, it might pay off all my debt (wishful thinking!)

A no spend day for me today. Being observed by outside agency at work today, hope they come to my nice class. Payday tmw so new budget will kick in 😊

  • Prolific surveys have been a real help for me. £900 of my debt repayments in the last year was from Prolific so it's definitely worth doing!
Good luck with the observation, do they provide feedback as they go? Let us know how it goes :)
