Evening! Out of curiosity have any of the loans or CCs defaulted? If so you could ask for a settlement as that’s what I did with a loan taking it from £1880 to £940!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe boards and spending & discounts boards. Unfortunately or possibly fortunately for my credit rating, I have not defaulted on any of the payments, so it is just a case of plugging away at them the old fashioned way! I'll get there.

Morning all. 2023 is not being kind to me financially at the moment. One week in and my car broke down, bye bye £250 (although that did include tyres and tracking that I've been meaning to do) and then got a bill from plumber that I'd forgotten about from before Christmas so there goes another £120! But, as much as it's a bummer, I had the savings and I'm not going to let it knock me. I'm going to continue plugging away and hopefully get there in the end.
Back to my patchwork lesson this morning, might turn them into cushions to see at craft stall or some patchwork item will be gifts this year! 😂Debt busting 2022 Total £15842.68 £0 (100% paid since 1/1/22)- DFD: September 1st 2023[/b]

I think it’s things like this (for me it was a windscreen and emergency replacement clothes) that makes you grateful for having saved an emergency fund. Otherwise it would go straight on a credit card
Keep on smiling lovely x

Keeping my head down for Jan, no spending after last weeks saga. Cold out, so plenty of time chilling and crafting in the evenings. I’d love to be in a situation where I could buy whatever craft stuff I’d like! All good here, nothing much to report.Debt busting 2022 Total £15842.68 £0 (100% paid since 1/1/22)

Just a little update from me. Not much to report, January has been a very quiet month after the initial payout on car and boiler. I’ve been quite good financially, bought myself a book from charity shop and have been using up some of the craft stuff I already have so not spending there.I haven’t paid as much off my loan as I would have liked this month, but expenses at the beginning of the month prevented that, but I should be receiving some marking in the next couple of weeks which will give me an extra £250, some of which will go on loan, some on holiday - but I’ll count that when it comes.I’ve been getting back into my running and fitness, lost 4lbs, still a long way to go, but combined with cutting down on meat and bread, I feel a hundred times less bloated. Now to shift some more of that weight! Average step count for each week is about 11k a day, so feeling good about myself
gotta keep it up now!
Hope everyone is doing well!Debt busting 2022 Total £15842.68 £0 (100% paid since 1/1/22)- DFD: September 1st 2023[/b]

Well done on the weight loss, slow and steady is the key they say
The good thing about Jan for you is that you were able to handle those unexpected costs without using credit which is a big win! Especially in January.Keep at it, you’re doing brilliantly

All good with me, I might have found a little bit of work writing maths resources and things for the exam board - it might be adhoc, but it will be another string to my bow and might generate a little extra now and again.
Just had a look at my income and outgoings again - I always like to keep up to date, so organised that and know what is what again! I'm hoping Feb will be a bit nicer financially than January was, I'm feeling confident! I have a little bit of marking winging its way to me which will arrive early next week, so that'll add a bonus on my normal income.
Just paid out another £7 prolific payment, lets keep it rolling. Just about to list mini camera tripod on ebay and see if I can get a bite (not sure it'll get a bite on vinted!)

Been super busy for me lately, but that means keeping me out of mischief. I’m keeping myself accountable and bought some new shoes in the sales but I’m not allowing myself to have them until i hit my weight target! I’m feeling healthier
Moneywise, loan is now below the £5k mark! Progress is being made. I’ve listed a couple of bits on eBay and vinted so we’ll see if there are any takers. Got a marking contract currently which is taking all my free time, but the money will go off loan eventually so it’s a good thing!Debt busting 2022 Total £15842.68 £0 (100% paid since 1/1/22)- DFD: September 1st 2023[/b]

It’s great that you can pick up the extra marking work, it’s a double whammy in my opinion… keeps you busy so you can’t spend and then you get paid for it 🙌Life gets in the way...PADding is addictive...Saving's better than spending...My savings diary - Now for a healthier, wealthier me2025 1p challenge #41 | Cash envelope challenge #01 | SPC #017Sealed pot 2025 £6573 | EF £1000/£1000 | Sabbatical £3364/£6000 | Travel savings £1508 | Sinking pots £25710
