I haven’t heard anything yet. I’ve had a rent arrears email from the agent but nothing else.. but I will email them and say I’ve lost my job due to Covid and can I pay the arrears back when I find a new job or come up with a repayment plan

It’s not a great proposition for the landlord, as you haven’t found a new job yet. How is the job hunting going?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Sory to hear you are going through this, it would have been more favorable to let the agent know of your circumstances rather than not pay and wait until you get an email. Hopefully you get another job sorted. Best of luck.

I can only imagine the stress. You have rights and it can take anything from 6 months plus for them to evict you. Either way they were going to find out and im sure by being honest the LL may be more understanding to help while you seek alternative employment.

So do you know who your Landlord is ?
Have you ever meet or spoken to your Landlord.
For £3 you can find out who the owner of your rental property is ? From the Land Registry
Can you email the LL/LA or text, call or write a letter to explain your current circumstances

It’s so stressful. And I know I have rights but I don’t want to go down the eviction route and cause LL stress ect as they are both quite older then me. And I’ll email the letting agent and say

    “ hi ********

I am contacting yourself regarding the rent arrears of 43 ********* **** , I cant pay at the moment due to myself losing my job ect and having no savings to cover bills. but I can rest assure you I have found a job and going through the application stage and it’s going to look good , and once I get my new job I can pay the full arrears and continue paying , please understand that this is very stressful for me at this moment on time and I don’t want to cause stress with LL and yourselfs . “

I know both of there names yes as it’s on tenancy agreement and I know they’re address as it’s all on the agreement.

I’ll have to do that and find out there number , as I don’t want to lose this house
