@PipneyJane - your haul sounds delightful, I don't blame you for buying such gorgeous goodies whilst you could see them IRL, hats off to Mr Pip for enabling such fab gifts too.

@Laura_Elsewhere, I hope that your intended can help motivate to to pick up your UFO projects and some of those waiting in the queue.  I am like a rabbit caught in the headlights when it comes to finishing things, feel of failure and not measuring up to the high standards of many in my group as well as pure lethargy from Fatigue caused by my medical conditions.

Coupons used to declare:- 6 pairs lovely thick Bamboo mix socks, 1 pair PJ bottoms and 1 pair of PJs, I also bought a red wool mix sweater but that is a CS purchase.

@PipneyJane that’s made me laugh. I think the famous Yarn Harlot used to say she tripped on the way out of the yarn shop and accidentally swiped her credit card as she did so …. sounds like a very successful day out to me, and great that some of it is gift coupons. 

I’m trying to get my sewing/craft room set up so that I can actually sew something, most of the house is in chaos while I wait for quotes for building work and so on,  I decided this was one room I could focus on as it doesn’t need any work doing. Nearly there, a few more drawers on the Ike* flat pack and then I can start unpacking boxes. And if it doesn’t fit, it’s not staying – I am determined that this is going to be a useable room, not just a storeroom!  I think there is more decluttering to be done.  So I am with you in spirit Laura and MaddieMay, I am great at planning but not so good at finishing things and it’s easy to compare what you do with others and lose confidence. Best thing to do is just get stuck in and make something, it’s all learning.

If leggings count the same as thermal tights, and your 2-pair tights voucher can be swapped for one pair of thermal tights, does that mean you can use your tights vouchers for leggings?

And can bike shorts (the ones that are basically leggings with short legs) be counted as half a pair of leggings?  They’ll be worn under my dresses this summer.

Not up to the standard of most of the make do and mends on here but I did sew some buttons on my jacket because I'd lost two of the original ones. The 'new' buttons are purple, to go with the piping on the inside of the jacket, and secondhand (60s, according to the seller), and I've decided I actually prefer them to the original metal buttons. 
This jacket is about eight years old now I think, but it's lasted well.

I've been reading but not posting much lately as I've been working on my Yuletide blanket (Attic24) and I'm on the last 4 rounds of the border. 78 rounds of pattern then 7 rounds of border, and the length is longer each time around as it's a square blanket! My grandma used to crochet granny square blankets as one big square to use up yarn from cardigans she'd made. I have a couple which are still used occasionally.

Been sorting out MILs house and have a ton of sewing stuff that was HER grandmothers - we're talking serious vintage here! (for some of the stuff, anyway)

Does anyone know of any re-enactment/living history groups who want t furnish an authentic vintage sewing-box? I don't want to just chuck the almost-empty and the three-colours-on-one reel bobbins but I really don't have room to keep everything.

(One of the bobbins has the label 'Tesco', which is not something I've ever come across!)

I might use quite a bit, depending... I use a lot of old stuff as it's better quality, so might buy some from you?

Well I actually got into the sewing room today but didn't make any garments or alter any, I made another mug rug lol!! I'm thinking one on each settee arm, so two completed and two to go, it will get me back into dress making I hope, I'm another one who is lacking confidence on the dressmaking front, as the last couple of things I have made either don't fit properly or look completely wrong on me anyway, I do have a couple of garments to cut out but I don't want to spoil the material yet - in this day and age we can't afford to!!!! (That goes for 40's or in the present!)
