I have found John L€wi$ and Whit€ $tuff are good for woolly tights. WS have some wonderful bright colours. Last for ages.
Ah but is that "woolly tights" colloquially which are usually cotton-rich, or actual wool from sheep?! :) Pip and I are on a long-running quest for sheepish-legs! :) I've not found any actual wool tights/stockings in John Lewis when I've searched in years, although i once bought some lovely Falke wool ones, but about 20 years back now...
Just checked my tights - most don't have a label. The ones that do, do not say!!!
If they were wool, trust me, it'd say so! :) Real high-percentage wool tights and stockings are very difficult to find and as for price - put it this way, I reckon Snag's £15/pair is pretty impressively cheap for 50% wool! :)

I always used to call all the thicker ones "woolly tights and was quite surprised to realise they were cotton-rich, not wool... :)

Do you think that they were woollier in years gone buy and then with the drive to make things cheaper the % of wool decreased? Or do you think the cotton/rich ones were introduced to make tights more durable? Or ???
I have some 60 denier cotton-rich type. I'm going to try and investigate some of the others.

Edit... W$ - tights are 76% organic cotton. Not a piece of wool in sight...  well, I have learnt something tonight.

    Edit again
John Lewis & Partners Cashmere Touch Opaque Tights, Navy £22.00. (I got mine in the sale a quite a few years ago) is only 7% cashmere. Don't think there is any other wool in there!!!!
