@CAFCGirl, IMO the best stocked cs for clothes in our area is Sue Ryder, what do you think? I'm really looking forward to car boot sales starting again, I think Bedale will be mid March on a Saturday.
But yeah I agree, I actually find the others a bit hard to look around, they feel cramped and tight, and the vibes seem 'off' in a few. Maybe because I feel a bit watched in them. I don't think I look like the shop lifting typeWealth is not measured by currency5 -
Never attended a car boot sale but I do love a flea market or antiques and collectibles fair. They lure me in with their siren song….✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

And yet I have been to several car boot sales - in England and Wales! Love them. Especially used to enjoy the one in Stratford upon Avon. Several of the trips I made there were with an antique dealer. We had great fun seeing what we could find. She would ship a lot home.7

Car boot sales: I buy clothes and books and in the old days (when I had space!) I used to buy kitchenware. I think our first slow cooker was a car boot find. I still keep a look out for old fashioned teaspoons, serving spoons (the nice deep ones) and things like loaf tins and pyrex. They can also be a good source of decorative 'finds', and Dh has bought art works. I find car boot sales are entertaining and fun to go round with like-minded friends, but I've never dared run a stall.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Hi Everyone - hope all is well with you.
I need to start afresh with my coupon count - I had to get a several pairs of slipper socks due to wonky joints last year as well as new underthings which meant I had to resort to using black market coupons.
Thing is, the gift card fairy has been very kind (due mostly to the fact that we've not been able to physically see people). As a result I've acquired the following:
£20 Snag
£30 Primark
£50 Hobbycraft
Can someone remind me of how these are judged? They were all Christmas/belated birthday gifts? Thank you.

I've got over my coupon shock a little bit now and we ventured out in the cold for a wander and found myself in SHOCKER @Cherryfudge Sue Ryder.... LOL
Found a pair of matte black (i.e not black denim) skinny leg jeans, size 10 but they looked small, and short in the leg. Got them home and went searching for the internal label, to discover they're actually short leg (28 inch) so they're a good length. A little tighter than I expected, so shall be mindful on washing them and line drying them.
That was an item that was on my list so I'm happy about that. Only £3.95 and no couponsWealth is not measured by currency7 -

Gifts are gifts so vouchers are paid for using the coupons of whoever paid for the vouchers, if that makes sense. In other words, free to you.
@CAFCGirl, well done for finding the jeans coupon free and helping a good cause. I'm sure I saw an article somewhere on unshrinking clothes but (unhelpfully) I didn't read it. Jeans will probably adapt to you a bit though.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Thanks @Cherryfudge !
The Kettle is on.
I used the Snag voucher as part payment for a skirt, so that's my first coupon claim for the year.
I'm planning to use the Hobbycraft vouchers on yarn later in the year, especially as I've got a student-type discount which comes in useful.
The Primark vouchers will be useful for thin long-sleeved t-shirts and leggings, as I'm training myself to be less afraid of dresses by layering them over such items. And possibly some office-appropriate shoes, as it looks like I'll be working less from home soon.
I'm looking forward to more charity shop hunting this year...

I was reading an article the other day in my sewing magazine about various sewing challenges that individuals take part in. I know someone here was talking about challenges earlier on and I have decided to try and do the "Make 9" challenge which is basically making 9 items of clothing over the next 12 months. I might try and use it to make a capsule wardrobe of clothes that can all be worn together in various combinations. We will have to see how that goes.
