Oooohhh…. I look forward to seeing your new sweater, @Laura_Elsewhere. You have amazing colour sense. Those stripes will look beautiful together.
Now that the heatwave has calmed down and the nights are cool, I’m afflicted with a new wave of “knit all the things”! Current projects are a pink cotton top and a pair of socks for my MIL, but I am wondering what to knit next. The socks were started on the drive up to Coventry last Thursday and, after knitting at most Commonwealth Games events that we’ve attended, I’m now half way down the leg of the second sock. (I actually got too cold to knit, on a couple of occasions. There’s a real bite to the wind this week.)

Yes, although the water in 'my' quarry is probably warmer than it has been yet (I only started swimming there in May), we all commented this morning on how much cooler the air felt on wet skin when we got out and started hopping about on one leg trying to get changed in a muddy forest
Thanks, @PipneyJane, for the compliment about my colour sense - it's a bit ironic, as I've always been famed (mostly by my mum) for my inability to tell when things clash horribly. Now my eyesight is losing its colour perception I have extra-green and extra-autumnal colours, so I do wonder sometimes if when my eyes are fixed in a few years' time I'll look at things made during this period and think they look a bit oddI do run things by Mr E first usually, and he keeps me right...

@PipneyJane, here you are - it still needs its edging picked up and knitted round the square neckline and the armholes, but...
It's a very open knit, so I can't wear it over pale tops - but I think it will be a nice lightweight additionAnd using up yarn I'd had hanging around for years...

Good evening all,
Laura, I love the autumnal colours. It goes well with your skirt too. I think it would be a great tank top. I have a navy tank top with small pockets at the front. It is a great addition in the winter.I'm spending a couple of days with my elderly aunt. No tv on. This afternoon had a lovely game of scrabble. Spent the evening chatting whilst my aunt worked on her needlework and I crocheted a couple of granny squares for a friend's 50th birthday present. DH did the crossword. During the quiet moments all we could hear was the carriage clock ticking in the background. Bliss.2025 Fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons

Love the sweater, Laura. The colours all blend nicely with your other clothes. It makes sense to have clothes that just go together, so you don't have to think if it will clash with something. My clothes are a work in progress!
That sounds like a blissful day, gem gem.
I have some spends to declare. A pair of trousers and a t-shirt for the holidays, and some yarn to make a crochet cardi. I'll work out the coupons and come back!2025 Fashion on the ration

Two new spends - one much needed bra - wire came out of the old one. (Got £5 off as I recycled five items of clothes). And 10 x 50g of fine merino wool with cashmere and silk included for a summer poncho.

Summer poncho - balls of wool (20)
Cropped linen trousers (6)

Turns out, 90F still isn't cool enough for me to go walking for 15 minutes during lunch wearing closed shoes. I had to change back into my little floppy sandals because my feet were overheating.
Oh, and official decision has been made - I am keeping BOTH of the dresses I got this last time. Already accounted for in my coupons.2023 Fashion on the Ration: Start with 66. Nightdress - 6 = 60 remaining.6
