Foxholes - So glad you agree that I'm allowed to say I'm looking for a nice tall man in the supermarket. Heres hoping i find one! Otherwise I might have to give up on marmalade and have something off a lower shelf! 😂
Had text from friend I went shopping with on Saturday saying she has tested PCR+ and to test too. I've no symptoms so far but did a rapid flow test tonight and will repeat in the morning before work. Don't want to be the one to have to tell work if I am positive. Worse than that is I've been living at my 83 yr old mum's so praying I won't give it to her.
DS rang his gran earlier asking about his camping rucksack for his stepdaughter to use on DofE trip. Remembered his friend had borrowed it about 8 yrs ago so probably kaput. They've been given a long list of kit necessary but no idea of when or where they will be going.
Rootled round in garage and found new unopened waterproof jacket and trousers left by friend emigrating to Oz 5 yrs ago, 3 camping pans, 2 stainless steel plates and 2 tents (both too heavy to carry on a trip). Will drop them off for him to use or sell. A bit of decluttering at the same time!
No NSD today. 5K+ steps at work.
Grateful today for: swan flying over as I drove to work at 7.30am, rapid flow test clear tonight, being able to find the camping stuff despite the terrible mess in the garage. X

What a day! Best bit about it was that I didn't spend anything (NSD#14) a tricky morning at work, the afternoon was better though great hilarity from pupils & a member of staff as to how I say bucket! I'm originally from Robin Hood country, so bound to say it differently to my fellow islanders, but apparently I first said it a la Hyacinth Bucket!
Sold 2 items on eboy, then have spent the last 3 hours doing a sewing job. Feeling tired now.
I think you're doing a fabulous job @mothernerd & agree that folk should be contacting you, rather than you chasing everyone up. Would be even better if you had a helping hand!
Grateful for helpful colleagues, a better afternoon, that a big sewing job is doneUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Evening
Had 2 busy days at work & had to go into the office today to see one of my team who is going through treatment for C. Left home in the dark and returned home in the dark! Went for a walk at lunchtime and bought 2 notebooks on sale to use for To Do list for 2 x PT jobs. Also bought a Sprouts Day gift box on sale. Called at Mr T on way home for cat food. Am now a couple of pounds over my food/cat food budget for the month but it was a bit of a guess/ambition so i dont mind. Will try not to buy anymore food this month although will need milk.
Paid for contact lenses for DD2 and sent her some money towards smart trousers for work trial tomorrow.
Did exercise class on Fb last night.
DD1 and boyfr have got a dog! I'm more of a cat lady but she is a cutie (only seen pics so far). Hopefully she will keep DD company now she does some WfH.
Gratitudes - supportive colleague who stayed late at work with me this eve after Management Team all b***ered off and left us to our deadline! nice phone chat with DD2; 4 legged new member of the family settling in well

Hi turtles, I’ve not checked in for a while. Life’s been a bit hectic. Since OH tested positive for Covid last week, I’ve now tested positive, as has Mum, and am fully expecting DS to test the same since he’s currently surrounded by covid and he’s been coughing throughout the night. I’ve had a terrible sleep too just from listening to him and worrying. We are supposed to be going on holiday this time next week but there’s no chance I’d risk still being infected. We’re trying to move the trip forward by a week - easier said than done when dealing with an airline that is almost impossible to get through to.OH and I resembled a stock market movie scene as we had multiple phones ringing every number we could find for this British Airline. We were at it for a few hours in between trying to work and looking after DS who was literally decorating me in stickers. Stickers that I did still have on full display for a work video call.I eventually got someone from a department unrelated to my issue who I think took pity on me (possibly because I was sounding upset, desperate, maybe because I was ultra polite despite my extreme frustration, or maybe she’s just a good person). Anyway she got hold of a manager who was busy but who’s apparently going to call me today and get things sorted. To be continued…Grateful that we’re all so far having mild symptoms of covid, for Mum trying to help DS and I stay clear, for being able to get home (albeit because we’re all infected), and for Catherine at the airline trying to help.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸9

@ldee2111 hope you recover soon and manage to get your holiday sorted!
Early start and typically I woke up at 6 before my alarm had even gone offthat always seems to happen when I need to get up early!
No NSD today, was my first day "in" at the new job, went to our court (that's part of the job, I'm not a naughty turtle). Weirdly enjoyed the train journey what with having time to read, play games, sort finances etc. Went much quicker than I thought. Bought lunch as I wasn't sure what the facilities were like at court (pretty dire, not totally unexpected) but I'd planned for it and used a discount card.
In the main office tomorrow but have already prepped my lunch. I do plan on exploring some food places as my new work area is known for street food but that can wait until Feb!10 -

i hope you and your family all recover quickly @idee2111. I had to cancel a holiday with that airline, and like you, once I eventually got through, they were really helpful.
Another NSD for me, which takes me to 13/16+. An item on Vinted completed so the money was transferred to my available balance and another item sold. Everything left on there on Sunday is going to the charity shop.
all rings closed on my watch every day so far this week.
