Whoops, didn't quite make it back yesterday 😳!
Right, monthly round-up time....South_coast said:Money....
* Rustle up £1000 in "extra" money by 31/12/2023 - £138.08. Not much has gone into this this month, as I've been diverting free money towards paying off my seaside trip (it was only £81, so it hardly seemed worth paying for it out of the holiday budget)
2022, the year of happiness....
* Get out and explore somewhere new once a month - Nope, not managed this
* Try out a new recipe once a month - Yes, two new dishes this month. I'm not posting pics, as they look less palatable than ever 🤣!
* Try to be more upbeat and positive - Not too bad, I guess. Need to work on not reacting instantly when I see something annoying
* Try and have a couple of little trips away, one UK, one Europe - UK trip taken, can't see me managing Europe this year now
Sundry....
* Write a will - Well I've thought a lot about it, but not actually written anything yet 🙄 I will get this done before the end of the year!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Great progress. I feel you on the pensions side of things... It's that dilemma isn't it of you never know when the market will hit bottom and start rising again - so you have to keep feeding £ in and hope you are buying when it's all on sale!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Oh, I forgot to report the latest surreal instalment with my electricity bills. I had an email the other day to say that because the unit price on the fix I signed up to as a hedge back in the summer is higher than the new Govt price guarantee, they're dropping my price to match it. So I'll be building up a larger credit every month now, despite still not paying anythingMortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

I'm sure you'll appreciate that credit balance in the future SC! In a highly optimistic future, bills drop back to historic norms, state assistance is removed, you adjust your DD accordingly and coast along on the built up credit for a while. In a more likely future, bills remain eye-wateringly high, state assistance is removed, you manage with a normal DD for a few months by eating into the credit balance...4

Thanks SSS, it just feels bonkers that bills are the highest they've ever been and I'm building up a credit balance every month 🤷♀️Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Our local garden centre had all the Xmas decorations out in September. It’s ridiculous.
I thought the unwritten rule was always that you can’t get any Xmas stuff out until after fireworks night when I was a child.2025 decluttering: 4,019 🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅🌟
