Ooh, yes - "soccer" and "Mom" instead of football and Mum 😥 And a little bit of me dies inside every time I see what the others in my league table are learning and realise with a jolt that the stars and stripes means they are learning English 🙁

Anyway, in jollier news, Barclaycard have emailed to say they are reducing my minimum payments and will now only be collecting 1% of the balance each month (currently about 3%, I think). It's like they are giving me their blessing to stooze! Thank you, Barclaycard (and you still have the prettiest card too, even though I've filled it and it's not in my purse at the moment) 😍

Using Mom instead of Mum is actually from the Midlands and made it's way out to the colonies in the 17th century. I  think my username gives it away how I  pronounce it 😁

I will forgive Mom in that case then, but I still hold no truck with soccer! Vix, I wholeheartedly get behind yours as well, plus am throwing "movie" and "store" (as in "shop", rather than "put away") into the mix - blaming Sky for permeating those last two! 

Honestly, we create a perfectly good language, share it with the world, and then others go and ruin it. It's a bit like teaching everyone cricket and then they go and get better at it than us 🙄!

Anyway, could carry on with this all day. Should probably get on with doing some work, can't put my "paycheck" in jeopardy 🤣🤦‍♀️!

Unpopular post incoming 😁 Soccer is also an English word, an abbreviation of 'association (football)' and apparently we only stopped using it cos the Americans started using it 😂
