I think that the sofa does need to be as good a quality as one can afford, high end mattresses and bed linens can really make a difference
tables and dining chairs less so
maybe add to your list where you don’t mind looking second hand etc - can wait for the perfect sideboard etc
Vinterior have some nice stuff)
plus my parents have had their sofa from Lee Longlands and it’s gorgeous and v hard wearing - lasted for decades - LL have some lovely things and there is a 40% off sale on right now
I used some aloe Vera memory foam pillows when I was away on holiday - so good I got the new chap to buy some as his pillows are awful - I have v decent pillows but may end up getting some myselfDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

OMG, looking for second-hand would be even more daunting - then I'd need to know what I want 🤣! Fortunately, as far as furniture is concerned, I don't actually need that much: Sofa, bed, TV unit, some kind of shelving unit/bookcase and I'm good to go.
In other news, it's "Tesco" - grrrr

Do you need a TV unit? most TVs can be wall mounted 🤔Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

I used to buy a lot of second-hand, but as bedbugs are becoming more common I've gone off it unless I have plans for a complete refurb that will kill any bugs.
Do go and test beds and sofas to make sure they are comfortable.3 -
Well that's definitely sold me on new 😱!
Definitely need a TV unit, a) I'm not sure mine could go on the wall (it used to be BF's Mums, who died 6 years ago and I'd had it about 2 years before that, so it's pretty old!), b) it sits in front of a corner window, so I don't want it on the wall 🤣! and c) I usually watch the TV while lying on the sofa, so don't want it too high. Not thinking a traditional "TV unit", more something like this:
It's currently on the smaller one of these, so pretty much anything would be an improvement!

Just realised I got so distracted by talk of TV units that I forgot to post what I came on here to say 🤣🤦♀️! So my latest top tip for "Things I never knew I could buy from Argos" for people who are struggling to use their Consumer Pulse vouchers is: Tu clothing. I clicked and collected 3 boxes of tights this evening for the princely sum in real money of 50p 👍Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
