At first glance the figures stated don't look too wild for a moderately spendy couple. For example, moderate couple expenses + mortgage bill almost exactly matches income for Mrs E and I.

Then you remember we are currently using IRO £1300-£1400 a month on childcare, pension payments, ISA and savings and you wonder what planet they are on!

Maybe this just means we're on target for moderate+ ? ;)

It’s the clothing budget that always gets me - I spend nowhere near that amount!! I think they are also not targeted at people who know how to make their money stretch - let’s face it, we are the experts at that.

The first of my "April price hike" bills are in: Will now be paying £9.06/month for water rates (still got a big credit on the account for the surface water correction). Reckon I can manage that 😀👍

Long may it continue in the same vein - although I suspect the rest of my bills will be significantly more 🤣!

Actually, just remembered my mobile phone bill is going up £1/month this month, so the water wasn't the first 🙄 £1 may not seem like much, but it's actually a 14.4% price increase on my current £7/month price 😬!

Have also just had lots of fun scanning all my Lidl receipts into ZipZero now that I'm done with shopping for the week. Surprised to see none of the ones I picked up had Lidl Plus. You're missing out on free stuff, people!
