Yes, I think I need to zoom out and look at it year on year instead (although last year's +£5k didn't fill me with encouragement either)!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

I've even moved my savings for my niece, as I wasn't impressed at still only getting 3%. She's now getting £6.50/month to top up her pot (I put in £10/month, so that's a tasty 65% uplift!) Now toying with front-loading the remainder of the planned payments, as that would see the monthly payments matching the monthly interest 🤔 Not actually got the cash to do that though, think I'll do some spreadsheeting!
Finally got back on target with "the other thing" (I diverted money towards holidays earlier in the year - no regrets 😀), so from next month I'll be sending more towards the S&S again

11.63 years to go....DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.
