Thanks for the Gold Star ⭐️ @Mrs_Salad_Dodger !
Saturday was pretty mammoth for me, so much so that Sunday everything took a hundred years to do- I was zonked!! I did manage to go through all my exercise clothes and list a few items for sale, and have sold two of them already, and posted them today. In doing so I reused two post bags I'd saved, so I guess I got rid of four things! And I managed to finish my photo-calendar for 2022 (start month Feb) that I'd been meaning to finish- should arrive in approximately a weeks time- can't wait to see it!
Today I updated my new (in December) money book, added all the info in there and in doing so decluttered a load of random bits of paper with money info on. My coffee table drawer is now much nicer when I open it! I also collated to do lists, so again, less visual clutter = less stress
IN: I *may* have bought some capris from the leggings Buy & Sell page.... so I spose technically I am only down one pair...A few birthday cards for the next few months (to save me going to the shops too often I picked them up when I went to Smiths/post office), and The Body Shop Cleansing balm- had a £5 birthday voucher so made sense to buy it now when it's discounted, as I'm planning to use it when my current other balm runs out.
Used up: The Body Shop Basil and Thyme home fragrance oil (nice- herby and fresh), and finished some protein powder that had been lingering since I don't love the flavour!
For charity shop bag: Oh, I finally put away some Christmas leggings, jumpers and hats (I'm so bad), and found a few bits in the suitcase and wardrobe I could release- 2 x dresses, 1 x shawl, and 1 x jumper.Jan Grocery Challenge 2023: £181.18/£400

Donna73 - loved the under stairs cupboard. I have posted a copy of the picture as an inspiration - when I can get to the space under the stairs.11

Went today to the Library and set it up for the next book sale. It was nice seeing all of the empty space on the shelves - and even better to be able to fill them in with donated books. Today I am concentrating on getting rid of the empty boxes our online orders have come in. Have about fifteen to cut down.13

Floss said:@Baxtersmum My budgeting is based around 2 bank accounts - the first one gets my salary & has all my DDs for the bills. I have a spreadsheet which has tabs for every month with the starting balance, each debit listed in date order, and an ongoing total so I know exactly how much there will be left at the end of each month & that gets transferred to my savings account. Because I just use that for the bills, it doesn't matter what date the DDs go out.
The second account, with a different bank, gets my "housekeeping" money on the 1st of the month, it is the account I use for my petrol, food shopping, haircuts, pet insurance, cat food etc.
I do very similar to Floss, Baxtersmum but I do a weekly standing order for my 'housekeeping', I find a month is too long to cope with. We also have a bank account each where our monthly pocket money goes. Thats for anything we want to spend. So 2 joint accounts and 2 individual accounts. Works well for us although it might take you a couple of months to build up enough cash to get you to the point of the weekly standing order as some months have 5 weeks going out so give yourself a wee bit transitional time.
I agree re 1st of month. There are unexpected delays at times of salary or benefits going into bank accounts so always give yourself a little leeway.

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 5 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV and playing AB2 during daylight hours 😉
4. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedI did stir my stumps & headed off to the CS - bubble wrap to BRC with plastic bags + threads + First Aid box going to CR. Posted cards & letters + popped into Wil*o for some chilli seeds & a couple of packets of Ibuprofen. When I got home I finished making the soup. 5th mini task for the day was writing up a couple more recipes 🙂 Dinner was cold pork, mash, carrots, spring greens & gravy. Will do the wudupa now & be back to cheerlead 😉

I had a good morning yesterday but things went downhill after that. Nipped round local shop and posted some letters but it was freezing so I didn't hang around. Came home and went to sleep on settee for 2 hours. When I woke up I was saddened to see a post on FB that an ex work colleague had died suddenly and unexpectedly at the weekend. Not a close friend but someone whose dry wit and family anecdotes would often brighten a dull day. She will be missed but most of all by her family.
DD has booked our short break away mid March. I somehow missed a talk I had booked on line but pleased to see I can get a recording.
197 The cards I have been sorting are now labelled in their new storage box so final sort will be much easier (like with like again)

One of the biggest was listening to ‘Decluttering at the Speed of Life’. I know a couple of you mentioned this, but I can’t recall who! I listened to it over a couple of days, sometimes whilst decluttering, other times whilst just sitting having a coffee so I could think about what she was saying. The steps given in the book made a lot of sense to me, but the key thing I took from it was to keep stuff that you need for the life you’re living now – not the one you used to have or the one you might someday have. This has changed the way I look at things – for example soooo many craft supplies that I know I will never use, but haven’t been able to release before, will be going to my local scrapstore (2 mins away by car – who knew?!!).

Like with like is a brilliant concept,
I have made a start on sorting out our( now my) large filing cabinet prompted by the realisation that now everything is in my name I really don’t need to keep expired agreements in DH name .
it is hard but will make things easier for DS eventually.
The first section was instructions and receipts ,do I really need the receipt and instructions for 3 irons ago !,
will do at least one section a day .When it’s done will think if I need such a large one
Also received the yearly water bill ,Direct Debit going down from £27/month to £16 !
Last year I was using the washing machine once or twice daily, since DH died it’s 2-3 times a week ,makes a difference .13
