Awh Mrs SD a medal , I’m easily impressed so thank you very much 😊
went to charity shop this morning and dropped of 4 boxes of stuff. All very miscellaneous but out of my house and garage.Came home and manoeuvred the monster Christmas tree out into a monster Christmas tree sized space I’d made in the garage! So that is a good way to finish the year! There was not space yesterday morning.
Wishing you all a good New Year and thanks for continuing encouragement when I needed it in the summer when I was clearing mums house. It honestly really helped. I think folk don’t get it when you say there’s a lot to clear…there was a lot to clear and I don’t want my children to have to spend 10 weeks ( plus) of their lives emptying my house when I go.19 -
Hello all,
Wishing you all a Happy New Year! Hope it is a successful decluttering year for all!
Thank you so much Mrs SD for my 6!!!! Gold Stars and 4!!!! Medals! I really appreciate them!
I have a few final updates for 2022 (seems to be cheating to hold off counting them them until tomorrow); 4 folders of accounts recycled, 25 items given to a friend and 10 jobs completed (frogs eaten). This brings my 2022 total to 3839 / 5000.
I will post my 2023 targets on the new thread shortly!
Thanks all once again for your inspirational ideas and support, see you on the 2023 thread!
Love H x

Happy New Year to all declutterers.
Thank you for your support and encouragement over the last year.
2022 was difficult - further poor health on top of existing chronic conditions plus an infestation of bedbugs whilst already struggling has left me physically, mentally and emotionally exhausted so I am looking forward to a fresh start in 2023.
Will see you all on the new thread with goals and dreams for 2023.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅16 -
Oh and 11 ceramic plant pots being picked up from someone local. Popped a post about half an hour ago to see if anyone wanted them. Out from under my sink 😊14

Finished off the last box of chocolates so that I could recycle the box. 😊
Not going to finish off the Christmas cake today though. That will have to linger into the New Year. Or I'll be 🤢
WM is swishing. I have no intention of washing tomorrow. I try not to be superstitious but I'm just not prepared to risk it.
Happy New Year to you all

Phew,I am gone 24 hours and it all happens. Well done everyone on the last push of the year.
I keep nodding off even though I slept 12 hours last night. At this moment in time I do not have a blocked nose, earache or a sore throat. I am impressed with your 7 hour sleep marathon Mrs SD and your sprint after the bin men,I would have just waited until next year! hahaha.
DS has gone home,DD1 and BF have gone to celebrations over night in Sheffield,Mr V will be going to work shortly till about 3am. All I have to do is move a bookcase filled with bricabrac into our room, strip the spare bed ,pull the trundle out and make it up again for DD1 and BF. (groan) They do not go home until 3rd January. We will pick them up from Sheffield tomorrow as there is a rail strike. DD1 is making us Vegan Christmas dinner tomorrow. I imagine the 2nd Jan will involve a trawl of charity shops as there are only 2 where she lives. DD1 is her Mothers daughter and LOVES hunting for bargain clothes.
As we had Christmas late I am not starting my New Year until my visitors have gone. If I have time tonight I will sit and firm up a plan for 2023. I am undecided about counting items out as I got a bit obsessed and made myself stop. It is a huge help in recording progress though. I honestly can remember very little that has left this year, but it has been a lot.
Bitbybit you are between a rock and a hard place. Recreational drugs have a lot to answer for.
Thank you all you lovely people for contributing to this lovely thread, ably captained by the outstanding Mrs SD.( Think it was me who first shortened your name and it seems to have stuck, apologies.) Happy New Year, I hope next year brings all we could wish for. See you on the new shiny thread.
