Happy Christmas day all. Just about to hit the veg but wanted my daily dose of common sense and calm first. As @vulpix says: internet family.
Very wise words which apply all year roaund I would say @grandmanerd
Why thankyou @Mrs_Salad_DodgerYou are very kind.
Congrat @grandmanerd and @Baxtersmum for reaching your targets. What an achievement
I am looking forward to today with a bit of anxiety as I aways do until the food is on the table. DH and I share the load so not so bad.
I am looking forward to the space we have after all the gifts are opened and most have left the house. I got DH no waste pressies this year and DD things she needed plus replaced her toiletries which are not cheap. I photographed her bathroom shelf a few months ago.

Hope everyone has had a nice day for those who celebrating, a peaceful day for others and hugs for anyone who might need them today. Was a busy Christmas Eve/this morning. Stepchildren (both teenagers were here overnight) and returned to their mums by 12. DD was awake every 1/2 hour between 12 and 6am! 4am she was hungry and wanted breakfast! I am exhausted, she will be in bed exceptionally early tonight.Spent morning at MIL'S with wider family and then home for a quiet lunch for just the 3 of us. Dishes done, Kings speech watched and chocolate cheesecake and sponge cake had for desert. Washed down with prosecco blush.Looking forward to a chilled evening and Call the Midwife Xmas special.
All packaging and wrapping paper decluttered to bin/recycling.12 -
Ho,Ho,Ho Seasons Greetings to you.
Minimal gifts received, only one shocker, which is due to Mr V getting giddy and choosing things himself! Honestly it is as if we have never met! hahahahaha
Very relaxed day here everything made beforehand so no cooking.
I hope you have all had an enjoyable day.
Love Vx

Hope everyone has a good day for this holiday season.
My day has been off to a not-so-great start - had to clean up the toilet after roommate had problems, the lights downstairs were left on all night (5 of them) because one other roommate was going to "come down and do his dishes" but didn't until about 8 am, the other roommate who is home is drunk as a skunk - and broke his cell phone yesterday after getting mad at his current "true love" and slamming it to the floor after she asked for his bank details so she could "deposit money for the wedding", and the sister who was to drive has called in sick. I'm to go by her house and pick up the presents and the part of the food that she is providing. That means three less for the gathering as her boyfriend and his sister who lives with them will be staying home also. At least I was prepared and we have enough gas.
I am thankful that I have a car and it should be working (if not I can borrow the one my sister and I share), we aren't dealing with bad weather here (will be at least 24C instead), we have food, and I do have family I can visit. Just feels like a strange day so far - but I found 6 pennies when I took the trash out!
Mrs. S_D, your visit has definitely been the highlight of my year so far. Merry Christmas to you and DH.

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV during daylight hours 😉 AB2 playing zero - 20/9/2022
4. Declutter/Relocate one item every time I stand up.
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedChristmas Eve I vacuumed downstairs & cooked sausages, mash, baked beans & chopped tomatoes for dinner. DH washed up & I dried & put away.
Another Christmas Day done & dusted 😉 Sunday was rather warm & dry until late evening so not very Christmassy at all. Sadly I was rather unwell - thick head, earache, slightly nauseous & woozy & that was BEFORE having a drink 🤣 Opened Christmas presents - Dsis loved her short oodie decorated with koalas. She had gone mad buying us presents including two old fashioned games - Shut The Box & Shove Ha’penny. A marvellous present from my DH - a new pair of Sketchers ☺️🥳A nod to past Christmas’s which we spent with our parents & playing these games to decide who did the washing up 😊 DH did nearly all of the dinner preparation & cooking (under instruction & with me doing some of the gophering). DSis set the table. Turkey, pheasant, duck & venison, hm roast potatoes (from freezer), roast parsnips & carrots, cabbage, sprouts with bacon & chestnuts drizzled with maple syrup 🤤, mashed swede, Yorkshire pudding & a delicious hm gravy. Accompanied by our annual bottle of champagne. I knew I was definitely not up to par as although I had not piled my plate up, I only managed to eat a third of what was on my plate 😔 (Plenty of food left for bubble & squeak 👏) Didn’t really feel much better for the rest of the day, so Boxing Day trip to Kent has been cancelled. Whilst prepping & cooking dinner DH had been doing the washing up as he went along so when it came to doing the after dinner washing up there wasn’t too much to do. So I wudupa before toddling off to bed. Not withstanding feeling unwell 🤒 I had a lovely day as did DH & DSis.2219 - 2225 Kitchen recycling, two glass bottles, cardboard packaging, 2 cardboard boxes, drinks cans - recycled
2226 - 2227 Kitchen detritus & Christmas wrapping - binned
I see everything is set weenancy & what a lovely Christmas Day is planned. Everyone pitching in with the food & meeting up with lots of family 😊
What a joyous experience EnergyShifter 😊 No wonder you are full of Christmas spirit 👏
And a Merry Christmas to you to GrannyKate 😊 Sorry that RL has been so tough this year. Hopefully although DH is no longer with you, your memories of him & all the good & bad times you shared has helped to sustain you. Wishing you a lovely family Christmas Day. Pleased to hear that your sister is OK after her accident & that the car was still safe & driveable 🙂
daisy_1571, Well done on getting past three quarters of the way to your target 👏 One Gold Star ⭐️ on its way 🙂 Ooh, another medal - thank you 😊 The thing with our virtual medals & Gold Stars is that they are so light 😉😄Lovely post florianatwobob 😊 Like you I think it is the people who love & support us that make Christmas (& the rest of the year) easier to cope with & hopefully enjoy 😊Lovely post bit_by_bit 😊 Hope you had a lovely day & how lovely that you & DH share the cooking duties 👏 What a brilliant bit of planning re DD’s Christmas present - taking a photo of her bathroom shelf to see what she uses - I am so impressed - one medal 🏅 coming your way 👏
Fizz2015, Sounds like all the hard work Christmas Eve & Christmas morning led to a wonderful if exhausting Christmas Day 😊 I still have Call The Midwife & Doc Martin to watch - so no spoilers 😉😉vulpix, what a calm relaxing day you & MrV had 👏😊 Did have to laugh at the ‘shocker’ of a Christmas present 😂 but remember surprises keep a marriage fresh 😉
Oh weenancy, what a miserable start to Christmas Day 😔🙁 However, you being the wonderful person you are, you have picked yourself up, dusted yourself off & retrieved the situation 👏😇 Big hugs 🤗 coming your way. The day can only get better & hopefully your afternoon will be a relaxed time & you can enjoy time spent with your family 😊 I believe SIX pennies means SIX days of good fortune which will take you to the end of the year ☺️ What a lovely thing to say but do remember you have also had a very successful year at the library & have been recognised for your Herculean efforts 👏 You should be extremely proud of yourself 🥹Finally to all our posters & lurkers I hope you had the Christmas you wanted & that your Boxing Day is less stressful 😊MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅 🥇🥇🥇 🌟 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 🏆

Good morning all xx And happy Boxing Day xx
I had a lovely day yesterday - and there was more out than in so I'm a happy Round. It's marvellous not having a boxed lawnmower sat in front of the telly unit. (It's now sat in front of DS's telly unit at their house 😊) I do like having floor.....and the more there is the more I want. Very incentivising is floor!
I'm itching to get started on 2023's decluttering but my brain won't allow me to cause it's still 2022. (Apparently it's Monday today. Who knew?) So I'll carry on with 2022's decluttering until midnight on 31st December....
The box (the hamper I won came in it) that was in my bedroom holding presents is now empty, so I've brought it down and I'm in the process of tearing it up and recycling. The front was cut away to show the contents of the hamper so it's not reusable.
I completed a Sudoku book on Christmas Eve so that can be recycled too.
I've not been outside yet but I'm told it's cold.
Hope you're all toasty.
Rxx

Thankyou for the medal @Mrs_Salad_Dodger. Shame about feeling dodgy but maybe a rest day is in order.

Happy Boxing Day!
I had a nice and very relaxed day yesterday. We went for a walk on the beach with our Jack Russell and then went back home to make dinner. After that we binge watched the new Jack Ryan on Amazon Prime and ate snacks and drank wine.:)
I am on a mission now. I took down the Christmas decorations last night. They were very minimal so it only took 10 minutes. The tree was collapsible so it went back into the box to keep upstairs and the lights, tinsel etc... all fitted into the wicker chest I had the tree on. I keep the wicker chest in my living room so that can stay there until next year. Very easy!:)
My new donation pile:
2 pictures,
1 pair of boots,
1 hat,
1 teddy bear (I bought it but then realised it had beads in so I couldn't give it to my dog. I really have to be careful about checking for that before I buy them!)
I added 4 of my handbags too. I got them all out and looked to see which ones I hardly use.
I'm not sure what hours the charity shops keep around here, but hopefully they will be open later this week to get rid of this little lot. I will try and add some more before then.:)2025 GOALS
