Friday is a damp, miserable day interspersed with short bouts of sunshine. DH & I are setting off down to Kent in the next hour. We are staying overnight at his niece’s house as the wedding is midday tomorrow. Having been exceedingly chuffed that my dress fitted, I had the sudden horrendous thought that I might not be able to sit down 😱 Pleased to say I can sit without being uncomfortable 🥳 Another bit of good news is that the new shirt DH ordered arrived this a.m. & it fits properly 🥳 (DH has a large neck & usually shirts will be more like tents 😔) Our wedding outfits, toiletries etc are packed & our riding gear is ready to put on. I have taken something out of the freezer for DSis’s dinner tonight but she will have to sort something for tomorrow.
Lovely to see you back from your travels mhagster 👋 I think 🤔 you were posting elsewhere & it sounded like you had an absolutely brilliant trip to Australia 😁 Excellent decluttering 👏 & everything crossed that the house sale is completed today. If you were doing numbers I think that would have to count as 1,000 at least 😉 especially as you have done all the house clearance 👏
Excellent decluttering roundtuit 👏 You are an inspiration 🙂
TC77, I think I would keep all the torches 😉 you never know if you will need them what with the threat of power cuts 😔 I will be joining you in trying to declutter a few or more lbs - as I now have only the one smart outfit I would like it to fit more flatteringly 🙂
Just seen the time, so need to get ready to travel. Back later to finish cheerleading.

Mrs SD , there are about 4 very large torches (and assortment of smaller one) which we don't have any batteries so going to buy some and see how they go, most torches have red tape around them. I think to be easy to see as they're black rather than being held together by tape as very neat towards the top and bottom of the torch.
I want to keep our cine camera - no idea why (except nostalgia, we also have the screen and also slide thing. We've got cine on DVD put on by someone who didn't know which side of the family so all abit mixed up. We're trying to work out how to copy from dvd to dvd so we can give copies to people.
Have thrown out some paper, including a notebook - or taken out unused pages and bulldogged, old bank card cut up, work expense (v modest) claimed, leave booked - going on a one day sewing course in Nov. Put away the fan, and summer duvet, told decorator may delay - feels too overwhelming at the moment. Going to do 20 min tidy and go for a swim.
Hope people can relax or slow down for the weekend x6 -
Robin Hood & friends - to be returned to DS's Dad
2 wing nuts & screws - give to P&S
Random bits and bobs waiting for the rest to appear - now in a lunch box in the desk drawer

1 pr boys underpants - rags for cs
Santa Claus face cloth - cs
Flat sheet - bedding pile

Have a good evening

A few small wins today - OOD intensive moisturiser binned, bicycle pump and big bag of decorating stuff returned to my friend, returned my library books - I've read one but the other two i just kept renewing. No time to read them with work and 2 book group books to read per month so they've gone back for someone else to borrow

Yesterday it stayed dry whilst riding to DH’s niece (S) but took an extra 40 minutes due to traffic 😠 S had decided against a take away for 6 of us, so we had meal deals from MnS. Delicious - fish pie or cottage pie, peas & greens & carrots. Sticky toffee pudding & ice cream for dessert. Lovely evening spent chatting & catching up with lots of laughter & some ‘sadness’ at the parlous state of the country 🙁 Bed before midnight but I was up 3 times during the night.
I was up before 9:00 & made coffee using the ‘magic tap’ - S had taught me how it worked 😉
Back to cheerleading.
Excellent work oceanspirit 👏 Tidying is just as important as decluttering - makes it easier to see what needs to be done & makes clutter seem less stressful 🙂
The whole situation sounds very stressful bit_by_bit 😔 Hopefully the measures being put in place will ease the situation 🤞
Siebrie, you are so organised & what a good result that the bag didn’t need sorting 👏
That sounds like proper flexible working QueenJess 🙂 When I worked in an office I worked from 10-6:30 - less crowded travelling in on DLR.
Good idea re cine films, Floss 👏
Short break for breakfast - sausage sandwich & coffee 😋
EnegyShifter, well done on listening to your body 🙂 Sorry to hear that the knee is playing up again 😔 so enjoy your afternoon 😊
Good work GrannyKate 👏 Hope you have a lovely weekend 😊
TC77, hope you don’t have to get a 2nd mortgage to buy the batteries 🤞😉 Nothing wrong with a bit of nostalgia - cine camera always reminds me of the joy & amazement people felt when the technology came into being 😊 Good work on the decluttering 👏
Excellent decluttering roundtuit 👏
Another great idea Floss 🙂
Great work Deni_debt-free_dreamer 👏
Off now to get ready for the wedding 😊

Morning xx
A touch of overwhelm this morning with the realisation that other chores still need doing too - especially washing of clothes and washing of pots!!!!
One step at a time. I took the name tapes off the football socks and put them in cs bag. Making the discovery that I can see better without my glasses on for close work like that. I realised that I was working with one eye shut and the other eye looking under my glasses. 💡 Took my glasses off and voila 😊
I've put the pile of stuff for DS in a bag. And I've taken the bedding upstairs to the bedding pile. So my LR looks less like the jumble sale it did when I first walked in this morning.
WM is swishing its first load.
I'm dressed and I chose a bin bag to bring down for sorting. Nightmare! The bag came but the contents didn't!!!! Bottom of bag had completely gone. Aarghh. If I tell you that the contents revealed themselves to be more random small bits and bobs. Toy peas anyone? You'll understand why I left them and brought a different bag down.
And I plan to bring down the bits and bobs one carrier bag full at a time. Much more manageable! So serendipity rather than a disaster maybe 😊
I hope you have a lovely time at the wedding Mrs SD. Its cold but sunny here, so I'm hoping it's fine where you are too.
Right.
Peg out first load of washing
Set second load swishing
Wash a bowl of pots
Then I can peep in my new bag.
Have a good day

Two loads of washing on the line. Not as cold as I thought. Sunny but blustery.
One bowl of pots washed and left to dry
One bag of stuff started:
Year 9 report - DS
Assessment Results 2007 - DS
Booklet belonging to a DVD set - DS
Various birthday / Christmas cards - recycled
Pile of bank statements, bills etc 2007- 2009 - to be shredded
All that's in my 'keep' pile so far is a calligraphy set. What fun. I've always fancied a go at that 😊
Having 5 minutes then I'll carry on
