Hi. Long time no see.I am at home this morning to have the new bed delivered. The delivery guys said it wouldn’t go up the stairs or through the window. My wonderful builder to the rescue. The lads had it done in no time. We will never be able to get rid of that bed now, unless we set fire to it🤣. The fridge had to be moved in the kitchen during manoeuvres so I was able to give the floor a wash before it went back.Life continues to be pants. My Mum is brighter but has lost her confidence. I am sleeping there and spending all my time there when not at work. I feel like I am meeting myself coming back. I know that is a familiar feeling for a lot of us. Particularly people with parent responsibilities.I have been reading along and keeping up with your highs and lows. I missed your Birthday wee Nancy. It does sound like you had a lovely day at Disney Land.:11

Sorry don’t know how I managed to do that!
I went to Disney Land when I worked in San Diego 40 years ago. The one and only time I have ever encountered a frozen banana on a stick!Anyway to get back to highs and lows it is so lovely to be able to share here with lovely supportive folks.Liverpool Anne, harping back to when I worked state side I was on a trailways bus driving through the night across the mid west desert. No rain but a navy blue night sky, full moon and an outstanding electrical storm lasting the whole night. Every flash outdid the previous one and lit up the red earth like daylight.I hope your knee is baring up. I fell over in our bedroom the other week and bruised my knee. Trouble is we don’t bounce like we did when we were kids.I can’t comment on everyone’s posts but a particular well done to Mhagster. What an effort. I have been tidying at my Mum’s and taken 3 boxes of stuff to the chazzer. A drop in the ocean.I need to press on and do some washing and jobs. My son is on his way to visit today. Presently the spare room is stuffed with stuff moved to make space for the bed delivery. The builders are cracking on. A beautiful job as always. The front of the house could be finished this week. Better go and make em a brew.Vx:11 -
Sorry to hear things are so tough for you at the moment @vulpix. Big hugs to you.
I have been on a visit to DiL today. She can be quite rude but I think it is more anxiety than anything. She lies everything organised and sorted and can't deal with not knowing things like how are they going to cope with the baby at nursery when it has mostly been breast fed and now has to drink regularly from a sippy cup? she is going back to work soon so in a major stress.
Gave away fan to DS2 last night.
It is raining now so going to do a few frogs then tackle the packaging pile.

@weenancyinAmerica I don't know how you do it.......remember to take care of yourself too.
@vulpix have done the parental caring bit. It can be really really tough but you will never regret it . Big hug and hopefully your mum will get some of her confidence back.
Sent pictures of the cabinets for restoration to a restorer. I knew it would be expensive but 😱 Anyhoe I then decided that instead of being a surprise I had better check the children would want them. DS is a definite yes, DD not sure. Decided that worth is not always about money and have booked them in to be done.
Swopped my Credit card for a different one with the same company as they do free foreign exchange and I have a big holiday coming up. (very MSE)
Found the spare car key for a car I sold months ago and have taken it to the garage.
Not sure this is decluttering but my two log stores were a total mess. The man fixing my gate Friday week, is going to need to be able to get past without risking life and limb😂 So I pulled everything off and put back all the bits that were small enough to fit in the fire. I also sawed a lot of logs into smaller bits. This took all day and it still isn't finished🤦🏼♀️ However it is much tidier. There are several bits that will have to go to the dump as they have too many nails or paint on. Have put them aside until the tip opens Thursday. The logs still for sawing are all in one place and the old pallets are also set aside. (the workman took pity on me and said he would bring a big saw for them and do them for me😁)Enough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D9 -
HI everyone
I'm on leave this week from my FT job but have been doing work for my self employment role today (still doing it!). Did have a break at lunch to drive DD2 and I to a nearby town for a coffee; we parked in the town square so i got organised and took 2 x charity bags which have been cluttering up the downstairs for about a monthI also shredded one notebook of meeting notes (some stuff is confidential so has to be shredded), just got about 10 more books to go.
DD1 is still struggling on trying to declutter her anxiety
love to all

@teachergirl a warning if you're using the pallets for burning I heard on the radio they can be impregnated with formaldehyde to preserve them, or some can be and shouldn't be burnt. Just googled and those are labelled MB If they can't be burnt!
Another couple of frogs, no physical decluttering

@TC77 thank you I will have a look. I don't normally burn them to be honest but we used to have a very messy wood store made from them and when we got rid of it , we kept the bits for burning. I will have a look in the morning. Don't think there is anything on themEnough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D7

Nothing decluttered but……
I did get an exciting picture this morning….
A picture of my mum’s dad in uniform! The only one we have of him in uniform (late 1910s/early 1920s) and the earliest picture of him that I’ve seen! Mum would’ve been over the moon to see it!✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)
