Hi all, another big bag of garden waste but it won't fit in the bin so I am working up to asking my neighbour if I can put it in hers. Sorted out the leaking hose by tracking down the hole and chopping it off after the hole and reattaching the nozzel so a chunk of hose in the bin.
I have finally made some progress on wearing out some clothes, I pair of socks and 3 pairs of knickers in the rag bag. I have been working on this for over 2 years but I still have loads so no need to buy more
Also completed 2 frogs so not a bad day.
Tomorrow I am meeting a friend and her son and his girlfriend for lunch so nothing will be done and on Friday will probably go to OHs house to tackle that garden while OH gets on with the decorating.
Have a great long weekend and take care everyone

Wednesday woke up to an overcast sky, slept fitfully again but had managed to find a non feather cushion to rest my head on. DH has commented that the quality of sleep between awakenings has been pretty good 👍 Bags in van 8:00 a.m, breakfast was a bit odd - DH had omelette & bacon in a wrap & hash browns, I had my usual toast & jam. Coffee was OK. Departed from Monterey at 8:30 a.m. Practically everyone else had wandered down to Cannery Row for their evening meals so there are photos on the App that was set up by one of the Aussie brothers (who are now back in the loving embrace of their families). We drove down through Cannery Row then headed to California Coastal Road 1. 60 miles of winding road with the ocean on the right & tree & grass covered hills on the left. We started the Route with fog so quite chilly & quite eerie 🙂 The views of the ocean were magnificent 👏 A rugged coastline with waves crashing on the rocks, sandy bays & the colour of the sea ranging from turquoise through aqua marine, light blue, dark blue & navy blue with a deep grey band on the horizon climbing to clear blue skies. Then a couple of miles on the sea looked completely different - from our vantage point it looked like heavy cloud had blanketed the sea & we couldn’t even see the waves crashing on the rocks. It was more like we were in a plane above the cloud cover & occasionally driving through wispy cloud. First stop was the Pfeiffer Big Sur Campground where we stopped for a comfort break in a pleasant wooded area & topped up our fluid levels. Then onto the Julia Pfeiffer Burn State Park where a shortish walk took us to an overlook of a small bay with a waterfall. Then continued along and stopped for lunch at a marvellous place called Ragged Point - DH & I had a cheeseburger each & shared a large root beer. By this time we actually had some proper sunshine & it had warmed up from 48F to about 76F - only took 4.5 hours 😉 Continued on our way admiring the scenery & final scenic stop was at the Elephant Seal Vista Point. Wow 🤩 hundreds of elephant seals jockeying for a prime spot on the beach 😉 - we spent about 25 minutes there watching & photographing their antics. Apparently several members of our group saw & fed some ground squirrels. We missed the chipmunks but did spot an Hawaiian number plate 🥳 Continued onto Pismo Beach on Highway 1 which was entertaining 😉😉 Filled up with fuel & arrived at our hotel - Cottage Inn By The Sea. Debriefed & then briefed about tomorrow - sadly our last day 😭 😭 😭 whilst supping a beer & getting our bags from the van. Yet another lovely room with a ceiling fan rather than air conditioning but as it gets chilly (we are very close to the ocean) there is a lg effect gas fire. DH has showered & this is the first place that has had a decently sized towel 😉😉 Back later as it is 6:30 & we are off to find something to eat.

Back again 🙂 Forgot to mention that we saw quite a few raptors, pelicans, seagulls & even some cormorants today. We walked to a look out point at the hotel & had a great view of Pismo Beach (picture to follow = ptf) & managed to take a blurry picture of a pelican (ptf) then walked to a nearby pub called Blast & Brew. Marvellous place - very busy, good choice of draught beers & an excellent menu. DH chose lobster Mac & I had grilled salmon on a bed of risotto with mango salsa & a varied selection of steamed vegetables (ptf) Plenty of lively chatter going on all around us, the obligatory screens showing baseball, ice hockey etc & slightly too loud music - an excellent atmosphere & a discreetly attentive waitress made it a wonderful dining experience especially as the food was so good 😋 Walked back into our room at 8:30 p.m. Will probably be in bed & fast asleep way before 10:00 p.m.
Tomorrow is our last day 😭 - van being loaded at 8:00 a.m & then we head back to Los Angeles to drop off the bikes, get taken to the hotel & then off out for our farewell dinner. DH has booked us an extra night in the airport hotel to rest & relax before our 11 hour flight home leaving 5 p.m. on Saturday & arriving back in England about midday Sunday. All my fellow declutterers will be pleased to know that we have been very restrained in our purchases - a few t-shirts & a few fridge magnets. However we have taken at least a thousand photos & have a fair bit of camcorder footage which we will have fun editing & recalling memories whilst the wm is going.Good wishes to you all and a good night from Pismo Beach.
