DD is finally getting better, but seems to have realised the value of her mummy and is being very clingy with me. It’s lovely to have extra cuddles though 😍I’m getting slightly more sleep as don’t have to stay up all night anymore. Means I am slowly feeling a bit better and hopefully can get a few things done again. Have decided to definitely stick to the bedroom until all perfectly tidy and then move onto the next room. Means eventually everything should be tidy (at least that’s the theory…). I did actually tidy and declutter other things today though as they just popped up whilst I was planting out the tomatoes. I all trying to get rid of a big bag of bird seed that was not expensive enough for the seemingly high brow birds we have round here 😂. I’ve just tipped them into a ground feeder as the pigeons and starlings are definitely less fussy. Should help to start clearing the tiny space I have in the garage which will please DH (maybe he will actually be inspired to get rid of some of his tat in there?!). I must forget that DH is a self confessed minimalist though who has more than twice the amount of stuff I have, doesn’t get rid of anything and when pressured by me is flustered and stressed 🤣🤣🤣. Maybe I should call myself a minimalist?!
I have been browsing minimalist blogs for inspiration and am definitely buoyed on by family visiting yesterday and bringing more stuff for the kids with them.
Been a steady stream of buy nothing people picking things up that I’ve been decluttering. Love that group so much as it really helps to clear the place! I hate to throw anything away and it’s an easy way to make sure someone will use my stuff.
Must get back to the bedroom tidy/declutter, but the decluttering achievements today are:2188 - 2189 - 2 books of stamps given away to family (I have way more than I’ll ever use).
2190 - end of bird seed packet binned that was simply dust2191 - binned a plant pot that has fallen into bits
2192 - 2195 - plant pots I don’t want/use anymore
2196 - packaging (used in buy nothing pick ups)
2197 - 2198 - digital notes deleted
2199 - 2206 - emails permanently deleted2025 decluttering: 2,387🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅

Hi all, on Thursday I got a load of washing done and line dried before I headed out to lunch. My friend's son did lunch in my friend's campervan by the beach. Veggie sausages in a bun with home made potato salad, beetroot salad, coleslaw, olives and some lovely dips with pitta bread followed by a 99 with sauce and a flake for pud from the ice cream van.
Lovely afternoon catching up and came away only when the rain came in about 4.45 so nothing done when I got home except a quick tidy of 1 surface but some things put away and a few bits put in the bin.
Yesterday was earmarked to go to OH s house but OH put it off until today so a small amount of stuff moved around but mainly slobbed around.
I have done 2 loads of washing today and am hopeful they will dry on the line and am about to have a go at cleaning the back room and hopefully get some of the furniture from the front room moved in there so we can get the front room decorated and the flooring sorted.
Take care everyone7 -
@QueenJess we feed cheap bird food to the ducks - they seem to like it7

A few more hours clearing done early this morning. Went for a big walk along the beach first though to clear my head ( and lungs…so much dust!)
Some books taken to supermarket charity shelf.Recycled some carrier bags too.
Tidied out cupboard at top of stairs. Lots of half empty bottles of toiletries so emptied ( very out of date) and recycled.A whole pile of photos looked through, some kept and some chucked. But holy moly at the hairdos! I had a very bad perm when I was 16 and this blooming school photo keeps popping up ( mum must have bought the bumper pack of school photos 😀) It’s currently on the mantelpiece for all to have a good laugh!A big bag of paper to be recycled.A bag of rubbish.A bag of stuff for the charity pile.
Chest of drawers from dining room now in my house.Emptied some plant pots into garden bin ( pick up this week) and washed them out and brought them home.7 -
Saturday here in L.A. Managed an uninterrupted 5 hours of sleep last night 🥳 then a couple of 1.5 hour sleeps. DH had a shower, I just washed in sink got dressed, finished packing the last suitcase then went down to breakfast about 9:30 a.m. - said our farewells to the last 5 French people of our original group ☹️ Dull overcast morning & still overcast at gone noon ☹️Bumped into the 2 English brothers who are not flying out until 10:00 p.m. Our Polish rider is in Santa Monica & will be travelling around for the next 6 weeks eventually getting to Panama before returning to Europe 🙂 DH had his last American breakfast & I had my obligatory toast & jam + coffee & iced water. Returned to our room, pootled about, checked everything was packed correctly in the 4th suitcase & that we have nothing that could be confiscated in our hand luggage, locked the last suitcase, checked the room to make sure nothing left behind. Out of room by 11:45, keys handed in & now in lobby with a coffee. Will be heading off in the Airport Shuttle bus in the next 30 - 40 minutes.
Hope everyone has had a nice Saturday.

mhagster - I used to think old school pictures would be good for blackmail. The only one I liked at all was one college picture. Both of my sisters and my brother looked great in theirs. But I was the oldest child and my mother made me have my hair done before the pictures and wear make-up in my high school pictures which I never wore and I didn't recognize myself in them. by my sisters' turn at pictures, she had realized it didn't work. They were lucky.8

Mhagster I am sorry for your loss. You will find lots of support and encouragement from the lovely people here.Siebrie I am sorry to hear of your MIL’s condition. What a worry.I have just put the TV on to find a farming programme featuring the Shetland Islands. I recognise many of the places featured. We only had a short visit but don’t think it will be our last. It has seduced me.Thank you for your travel blog Mrs SD. I have been to many of the places and you take me right back there. What a magnificent trip.I have decided to stop recording the numbers of items out. I am definitely in the habit now. It evens out to about 1 item per day of things that are over and above every day wastage.Recent wins are a pine blanket box sold and many items from the shed reposition to the tip. The sheds were sorted before we moved here almost a year ago. It seems the sheds are a mine of tat but they are Mr V’s domain. The big shed has gone to shed heaven and new customised shed is on order. Basically a shed with a partition and 2 doors. One side storage the other a recording studio. Presently Mr V is recording as Harry Potter in the pantry under the stairs. 😂
As I sit surrounded by big shed contents I am willing the new shed construction along. I will try and add a photo. I don’t mind really as I know it will eventually leave.I am off shortly to volunteer at the village fete. I don’t think it will be busy as it is sadly due to rain all day.Vx:6
