Back to work but only a few clients this afternoon.  This morning the surveyor came regarding the double glazing.  He was here all morning and was the nicest, most professional man imaginable and just quietly got on with things.  In spite all of that I still felt overwhelmed and I am dreading having the work actually done - my tolerance of "upheaval" is so low!!  I hadn't realised  that I will need to get new blinds for the whole of the house (doh!) so that's another thing I'll need to organise!   I am just not "a grown up" when it comes to things like this

Popping by after going MIA for a few days. Mood remains low but I have been doing stuff.

The Mums meetup went well last Friday with MiL and DiL1 talking t each other and DiL starkly made to realise that MiLs hearing is very bad and actually her response to things DiL has said; e.g. not seeming interested, is because of this.
 
Sadly DiL1 then decided she wasn't happy with DiL2 because she seemed to be having a game of baby oneupmanship. DiL2 has always done this and didn't mean anything by it. Oh well.

Went to see Mamma Mia in Nottingham with friends which temporarily helped my mood. I only have to think of the tap dancing divers in flippers to smile.

Sunday I was at a craft fair in the morning. It was at an old mill which has lots of vintage and antique places plus gift shops. I treated myself to a lovely slimline mattock. Its lighter than the mansize one I am used to and has a longer handle. It made me so happy.

In the afernoon DH and I cleared out the garage in the afternoon. A huge job.

It has resulted in 3 boxes of metal being taken by the metal men plus one large item.
We filled the recycling bin with cardboard ( am counting as 2 bags) 2 binliners of rubbish, a pile of wood for burning and another pile for wood for use removed (another 2 bag counbt). Also a bag of polystyrene has gone.

Once cleared we emptied the campervan, full of DD furniture and other things into the garage. All tidily and I can do some work on the van now.

Rested this morning but did CS this afternoon. I have given notice that I am not doing Tuesdays after the end of April.

The next few weeks are going to be spent working between the garden and the allotment to bring both up to scratch. the allotment comittee have let me know they are watching my mess. I have a week away in the second week of May so I want to be sorted by then.

We are still working through DS2's washing but it is coming to an end. 3 bags of that went to the CS Thursday last week. So miserable but getting stuff done. 12 bags and 1 large item for the last few weeks.

One non-Friday Frog dealt with this evening. 

Reviewed the regular outgoings and cancelled the N0w Tv subscription which had slipped over a couple of months after it’s discounted price had ended. I’ve  also cancelled the freezer insurance policy (contents is covered by the house ins). The freezer is fully functional (touch wood) but will need replacing eventually (it’s had a rough few years with all the building work meaning it’s moved around a lot). The monthly insurance for it can be put to good use by going to the savings account and eventually towards it’s replacement. I think the N0w subscription can be sent that way too.

I spent 2 half days over the weekend decluttering some rotting wooden slats on the front of my bin shed & replacing them with upvc cladding to declutter maintenance.... before, during & after.

@EnergyShifter - my tolerance for ‘strange men in the house’ (as it’s normally men doing the work) is very low, even when they’re lovely. I think it’s because I’ve had so many of them round over recent years.

 thanks for all the useful comments about my cluttered stuff. I'll take them all under advisement.

Had a satisfying decluttering,if only for a short time. Packed a bag for charity. A pair of curtains,6 T shirts never worn. Mr Dusty went to buy some for me - thats all I wear at home - and I wasnt well,and never really checked them for weeks,well past the return date,and found he had gone to the wrong section,and just picked up the shirts without realizing the style was sort of cropped off just below waist levle. I wear things to hide a multitude of  problems,and these covered none of them!

I also packed a bag of books in good nick to send to the charity shop.,plus some more tatty books to a  bookshelf in the local mall where people can pay as little or much as they want.That removes about a fifth of the books which have lurked behind the couch for almost a year.Still around 100 to go.

Cant take them back tomorrow,shop closed on Wednseday,but I will make every effort to takethem back on Thursday.

Last of all I chucked in the recycle bin several really old paperbacks,which are dried up and yellowed with age.

Feel much lighter and very happy at making a start.

Evening Peeps,
Well there has been some spring frogs dealt with today.
DH finally started the ball rolling for his PIP application. We had a planning meeting about the extension drawings sent to us and have agreed on what we want to change, which is most of it also emailed the architect.
 DH also re ordered his prescriptions soon enough this month.
 Me? I dealt with emails for deleting or filing.
Sorted sons bank account on line statements. 
Contacted the CCTV engineer about system not working. He helped me remotely to get it sorted. 
Enjoyed my day catching up in here and the other groups.
I had finished reading a holocaust survivor book that was leant to me from work colleague and was returned over the weekend as have worked all easter.
Looking forward to the next couple of days of nice weather shall be my reward

1264: book finally posted to friend 
1265-1280: items to bin or recycling.

off to Berlin Saturday morning till Tuesday evening: hopefully it won't be too crowded as Easter holidays appear to be over in a few places. We'll see. The airline suggests get there 90 minutes beforehand but I'll definitely go earlier than that.
