Octopus are having another saver session tonight, third day in a row 😊Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases
One income, home educating family5 -
Ha, yes, I just popped in to say the same thing, thank you 😂5

Oops, I opted into the session and then I was on a zoom call to my sister and completely forgot about it! 😬 Hey ho. I don't think we were doing anything power hungry, but we were in separate rooms with lights on, laptops plugged in, heating on 🙄 Hey ho. We were out for the last two so maybe that will count for something!
More admin done - new bank account opened for me to do a switch. Yawn, but it's definitely worth it. Just need to open new account for Mr Cheery, then open the two that we'll be switching into, then switch, and them cash should be with us in 7 days I think, £400 in total. Hopefully they won't withdraw the offer first. For my new account I used a bank I already have an account with and they still did a hard credit check!
Anyway, no more switching tonight. Haven't eaten anything yet, so need to do that, then book ferries, although I might save that excitement for the morning...6 -
The problem I find with the savings sessions is I don't tend to spend much at peak times anyway, as I'm still working. So to use less I've have to sit in the dark with the heating off so the boiler doesn't use any power 🤣4

For the saver sessions, we turn off our heating/hot water/ASHP - very easy with the app. Also, we don't use the oven, microwave, or electric kettle. Occasionally we turn off the TV and if DS is in he is on his computer.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

If we're here we turn off the heating, most of the lights, and usually the laptop plugs, and just use them on battery for an hour. I'm often still working anyway and sometimes do it by candlelight to make it seem more interesting 😂 already from today, when I forgot, but at least we didn't use the kettle, microwave, oven etc.6

My new account is open but not showing in the app yet, will try online banking tomorrow. We're off on a mini adventure tomorrow but need to do a few things first
* my switching account
* Mr C's sacrificial account
* Mr C's new account
* book the darn ferries & house!
* dig out photos of Mr C Snr's old dog to print off
Planning to leave about 11am so need to get up and get on!10 -
Evening chums😊
Well, both sacrificial accounts are up and running, and I have booked the house. Also did a comparison for travel insurance 🙄 We paid £40, for a single trip when we went to Germany before Christmas, and now they want £66 🙄 Limited choice because of all Mr Cheery's ailments, but we did go through the medical travel insurance comparison site. I considered an annual policy, in case we went to Germany again, but they wanted £166 for that 😱 Couldn't bring myself to pay it this morning 😂 But I suppose I'll have to at some point 🙄 Not booked the ferry yet.
Cottage booked for £313 though (4 nights), and £9.69 cashback has tracked, which is nice 😊 Also had £2.80 cashback cleared from a purchase in November 😂
Nice day today 😊 Met mum and sister for lunch, and then surprised Mr Cheery's friend at his pub gig 🥰 They've not seen each other for 20 years, and he didn't know we were going, so the look on his face was priceless 😂😂 Excellent fun.
Home now and tired - I might book the travel insurance/ferries tonight but equally I might not. Working at home tomorrow, thankfully!10 -
Rotten news about the job application, Cheery. They do seem to be terribly unorganised so maybe it's a blessing in disguise. Exciting times with the holiday booking!Live the good life where you have been planted.
